So much spin-off potential too, but sadly the creators intentionally ended the series to go out on their own terms, so I guess we won't see that. Tamsin would be a perfect spin-off.. Bond gets further and further from it's old self, not to say Skyfall wasn't incredible. Bad opening title - where's the classic silhouettes? - and a horrible opening song. I was longing for Carly Simon, Shirley Bassey...lots of stops, few starts...

Classic Del Toro / Chastain's Movie

This is classic Del Toro, with grand sets, performances and perfect casting. I was let down by the twist being what I figured it was early on, which wasn't a twist for me. The thrill of this movie is Jessica Chastain, who devours every line and performance... But really, for a film promoted as haunting, it didn't scare me at all, too much about Casper....

N. Sinatra's Song

This movie is all about Nancy Sinatra's song for me. It's a beautiful tune that works for the Bond montage and speaks for the feel of the movie. Set in Japan, we see the original Bond really living some spy moments, posing as a married man, actually marrying someone. We see a pretty creepy bedtime assassination - it'll cross your mind as you go to sleep. This movie is played serious, with the traditional big set piece finale. This is one of the perfect, classic Bond flicks.

I admit, there's some REAL cheesy stuff that takes me out of this movie. However, other cast and moments kept me hooked. Lois Chiles is one of the best additions to Bond movies ever. The Rio setting and Jaws' "masquerade" moment was really creepy. I think this Bond movie may be the first where a minor female character actually gets rescued (spoiler, sorry - it's still suspenseful). More big set pieces that aren't to be missed and some really great stories on the extras. For me, when they all went to space, so did my interest, it just got too goofy, as well as Jaws romance. However, they did pave the way for Machete II, that's worth something.
