The Apple AirPods are brilliantly engineered & are unique in so many ways. Audio quality is excellent; tap on the AirPod to access Siri; no wires; insert either or both & you are connected accordingly. Self charge in the case with internal Li-Ion battery; noise cancellation works great!
I can only identify one negative: The strong magnet built in the case that retains the 2) AirPods is so strong, it is very difficult for an individual with large fingers & thumb to grasp the super slick & curved AirPods to remove them! They keep sliding away from your fingers, occasionally lifting up 1/2 inch out of the case, only to be sucked back into the case by the over zealous magnet. There needs to be a release button that would push the AirPods away from the magnet about 1/4". This would make it much easier to lift them out of the case.

This Panasonic is the Reference Standard 4K Ultra Hd Video Blu-Ray Player of 2017. I bought the lower cost & highly advertised S****** 4K Blu-Ray on Black Friday, not knowing this Panasonic player existed. I found this Panasonic on Bestbuy.com, so I ordered it & returned the lower cost model.
This player weighs about 4 times a much as the other & is clearly designed as a high end machine. The remote is large with easy to read buttons. The front panel display is clear. It gets down to business very quickly; loads & starts the Blu-Ray or DVD in a fraction of the time as it's competition.
Streaming is fantastic & smooth! Amazon Prime works extremely well, is easy to control; pause stops / starts play instantly. Streaming is very similar to the built-in streaming on the latest E Series ULED LG TV's - which is the best I have ever experienced.
Colors & ultra black levels are amazing!!

Solid Fit - Attractive Design - Finicky Ear Pieces

These sharp looking JBL headphones are designed for active users. They are engineered to stay on your ears during the most aggressive workouts but have very finicky ear pieces, known as: "enhancements", that are frustrating to set up.
Here is a summary of 10) Pro's & Con's:
PRO'S
1- Twistlock design retains headphones securely. Compared with the Apple AirPods, these headphones will not fall off your head during physical exercise & running, even in rain & / or sweating conditions. - Best Feature!
2- Very attractive appearance & design.
3- Good 12" length for connecting cord - if anything, it could be 1/2" longer.
4- Beautiful packaging with magnetic closure.
5- JBL name & reputation.
6- Classy water resistant carry pouch with silicon texture exterior.
7- Heart rate monitor works reliably, but I always wear an Apple Watch Generation 2, so I could have skipped that feature & saved $50.
8- Solid, easy to connect Bluetooth provides 25' range from source.
9- Superior sound isolation - those around you do not hear bits or pieces of your music.
10- Handy cord retaining clip.

2- Disappointing sound quality, totally dependent upon proper seal with the ear. Primarily high frequencies heard and virtually no bass with Size 7 enhancers. After struggling to try Size 6 in order to possibly hear more bass, I decided to put up with the lack of bass, rather than fiddle any longer & probably tear the enhancers.
3- Compared with Apple AirPods, which do not require fiddling to achieve great sound, these JBL's do require considerable fiddling to get good sound with bass frequencies - and the AirPods sound better.
4- Compared with Apple AirPods, which insert in your ear & automatically connect via Bluetooth, these JBL's require manual pressing & holding the button to connect or disconnect Bluetooth.
5- I feel for $199, the free One year membership to MapMyRun app should be free Lifetime membership.
6- Printed documentation has tiny print, with barely legible font.
7- Compared with the dual microphone Apple AirPods, which serve as noise cancellation, these JBL's pick up the noise around you & make it difficult for the person on the other end to hear & to understand you. I peal them off my ears and take the calls with my iPhone now, so each of us can hear one another. Useless for phone calls except in a very quiet setting.
8- Bluetooth control is a pain, located on the wire itself & nearly midway between the ears with tiny buttons.
9- "Adjust headphones" prompt is annoying as you put the headphones on or take them off.
10- Separate pairing required for sound & for heartbeat monitoring.

Blazing Speed, Best In Class Performance!

The Linksys - Velop Tri-Band Whole Home Wi-Fi System (3-pack) is packaged in a beautiful & functional box with magnetic closure - it exudes quality! Each Node is protected individually. Just looking at the box, you expect a premium, esoteric product... & Linksys delivers that & more in spades! The shapely Nodes are beautiful & blend with any decorating style.
Simple set-up via the Linksys iOS or Android App. Within minutes, you are ready to go online.
As shown in attached photo, I have 90 wireless devices utilized over 5,000 sq feet / 3 floors: this is a challenging application for high speed Wi-Fi that includes: connected major appliances; BAS ceiling fans & Haiku Wi-Fi connected lights; Wi-Fi Thermostats; Netatmo Wi-Fi Weather Station; 65 Hue Lights; Connected exterior door locks; Wink Wi-Fi connected devices; connected iDevices, Nest & Arlo cameras; iPads; iPhones & computers. Finally, Streaming from 4) Apple TV's; Nixplay Wi-Fi Photo Frames.
And now the Results:
Velop delivers the fastest Wi-Fi speed I have ever experienced and does so consistently! The attached screen capture shows 349 Mbps Download / 23 Mbps Upload. These are WIRELESS speeds!! I pay for 300 Mbps Download / 30 Mbps Upload & our internet service provider generally delivers 300 - 360 Download & 22 - 32 Upload.
Velop is the only Wi-Fi System I have found to date that actually delivers this sustainable speed and does not randomly disconnect the many devices.
High power Wi-Fi requires a high current source. Each of the 3) square white power supplies produce 12 Volt, 2 Amp output! 24VA (Volt Amps) is the highest output of any router I have tested. CON's:
1- IP Address range cannot be changed from: 192.***. My 2) existing Apple Time Capsule / Routers had IP addresses of 10.***, but they can be set to different ranges. A different IP Address range requires individually resetting a few devices that previously connected to the other range. For example, each Nixplay connected frame had to manually "Forget" the old Wi-Fi name of the previous SSID, then set up the same name with Velop, even though the Wi-Fi name and password are the same. On 13) Apple Airport Express devices, I had to power down each device to reset it from 10.*** to 192.***
2- IPv6 is not supported as of product release. This is surprising, as my three year old Apple Time Capsule / Router supported IPv6.
3- The first unit set up in under 10 minutes; however the remaining two hubs froze at the same exact place midway every time during set-up. After 6 failed attempts, I held each Node horizontally and kept my hand around it. Surprisingly, this procedure resulted in a virtually immediate set-up! Then I set each Node vertically & it continued to work great.
4- Only one Node can connect to the internet via ethernet. The other Nodes connect to the first Node via wireless mesh connection. I would prefer the option of connecting each Node to a wired ethernet connection. Linksys Technical Support indicated this may be added later as a software update. This would prove beneficial because the Nodes must be located fairly close together (my tests showed less than 40 feet apart at most).

ELEGANT UNTETHERED SECURITY + FREE CLOUD STORAGE

Arlo Pro by NETGEAR offers an elegant, truly wireless solution to security. The 2) High Definition 720P cameras included with the base in this package are each powered by a removable, rechargeable Li-ion battery. Picture quality is excellent & each camera can be located quite a distance from the included hub. I cannot find a weak point within my 5,000 sq foot house - including outside on the porch or on the deck.
Each camera includes a powerful magnetic wall mount, adjustable to view at any angle. One power adaptor & cable is included to charge a camera / battery when needed. With typical use, the battery is estimated to keep it's charge for several months!
These cameras are super easy to set up! Basically load the app on your phone / iPad, plug in the base & press a button!
The motion sensitivity is amazing! I set a camera on the front porch, parallel with the street, which is about 60 feet from the house. Each passing car triggered an email alert. Playing the captured video back, you could easily see the car color, make & model - and immediately recognize which neighbor was driving by!
I own 4) competitive 1080P security cameras for which I pay $250 / year to monitor the 4) with a 10-day Cloud storage. While they deliver a slightly more detailed picture, they each must be plugged in to the wall to operate & if you lose power, you lose the picture. On the other hand, these Arlo Pro cameras are very close in resolution to those 1080P cameras, feature automatic built-in IR emitters for night vision up to 25 feet away, are self-powered by an internal battery for true security, and feature a very easy to use App.
A HUGE money saving benefit with Arlo Pro is FREE 7-Day CLOUD STORAGE for up to 5 cameras!! Once you buy the cameras, you are set & do not have any additional costs for monitoring!

5a- The 5th camera will serve as a portable, carry around camera for short term, temporary use. The Google Wifi Ac1200 is the first Router I have tried in my 4,000+ sq foot house capable of delivering a strong and consistent Wifi signal throughout the house!
This is the easiest router to set up; it is designed as "goof proof", not as a router that you can tinker with all of the settings.
I achieved 225 Mbps Internet speed. This set of 3) hubs is a keeper!
I have 82 WiFi devices connected, including HUE, WINK, Miele, BAS (Connected Fans), DropCams. The only difficulty I had was connecting HUE. I called Google & was connected to a clear speaking, helpful tech in under 1 minute. It just took powering the 2) HUE hubs down & powering them back up. Same with the WINK hub.
Suggestion: When you have it working as you like it, leave it alone. I tried moving the 2) WiFi modules to achieve the fastest mesh WiFi speed. I moved them about 8 times. Now I lost my HUE and my WINK hub connections. It is an easy fix - just restart everything.
Summary: Great Router for larger areas or use 1 device as needed. Highly recommended!

Amazon really built a winner with their stand alone Echo!! So much a winner, in fact, that the market opened up for a Bluetooth or hard wired "Mini Me" that offers the same capability with much lower cost & a smaller footprint! Hence, the Dot, Generation 2, was born!
I highly recommend the Dot if you want to connect it to an existing sound system via Bluetooth or hard wire.The Dot can even direct the closest Dot to respond to the person asking questions - try that with Echo & you will get a verbal response from ALL within earshot!

Wireless Speaker Rocks the House!

I bought a Definitive Technology W9 to try one out. The sound quality alone impressed me enough, I bought a second one the following week.
The W9 has a lot of punch in the mid bass frequency, due to the dual 5 1/4" drivers. The soft dome tweeters produce clear, natural highs. Dialog is easy to understand because the mids are well balanced.
An unexpected feature is the DTS communication between the W9, the smaller W7, and the W Studio Soundbar. I returned to buy the W Studio Soundbar. The free app allows you to connect all of the W9's, the W7's and the W Studio's you may own, in a whole house music system that is super easy to use. You can connect virtually any online music stream from Sirius XM to Pandora & many others to any W devices, or all W devices at once!
Because I use Apple Airport Express' to convey sound to various rooms throughout the house in an existing network, I plugged an Airport Express into the optical digital input of the W9. The attached photo shows one W9 with the Airport Express sitting on top of the wireless speaker.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the W9! They sound very similar to the discontinued Bowers & Wilkins W7, which I use and also connect via Airport Express because the wireless receiver in the B&W is very weak & constantly drops a signal. I have recently shipped my B&W for service: that cost a lot, and the B&W suffers from software issues, which the Definitive Technology does not. The W9 is the best sounding wireless speaker I have auditioned & purchased to date!

Great Specs; Ultra Slow Performance = Defective?

The WRT AC3200 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi Router has amazing specifications!! Enough to tempt me from my 2) existing Apple Time Capsule 3.0TB Router / Hard Drives. I have over 95) devices connected, so the possibility of boosting speed to an even higher level than at present is appealing.
I connected this router, updated firmware & set it up by the book.
First observation: A lot of great whistles and bells! Every connected device is identified by name, complete with an icon for each device!
Second observation: You can prioritize up to 3) devices, and even hold bandwidth for them!
Third observation: Front panel display is much more intriguing than the 2+ year old Apple TC's. It is very informative.
Fourth observation: USB 2.0 & USB 3.0 jack on the back is super convenient for connecting an external hard drive and a printer.
Fifth observation: Many, many options available on the free Linksys Smart WiFi app! I loaded the app on 2) iPad Pro's & 1) iPhone 6S+. It is a great app, super intuitive & very flexible.
BUT HOW DOES IT PERFORM???
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!!

Apple TC speed via WiFi: 245.99 Mbps at 5' from router
Apple TC speed via WiFi: 245.99 Mbps at 5' from router

HOW WAS THE EXPERIENCE, SPECIFICALLY?
9) Big A** Haiku Fans (substitute "ss" for the real name of the high tech fan manufacturer), their related wall switches & Haiku Lights would not connect
4) DropCam (Nest) cameras would not connect
50 feet away, a Speed Test could not get enough signal to run a test!
iDevices all went offline, not enough signal to work.

I called the Technical Support Line at Linksys & was helped by Jack for over an hour. We switched off 2.4, then 5, then restored to factory settings. Jack concluded this is a defective piece. Linksys Customer Service is closed on Saturdays, so I must call Monday morning to arrange for an exchange.
The reason why I use 2) Apple TC3.0 Time Capsules at present is: They are at opposite ends of my 3,500 sq. ft. house. They are ethernet connected; one serves as the router; the other to extend the network. This provides the maximum bars of signal strength throughout the house. The specs of the WRT AC3200 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi Router suggest it can easily outperform the older Apple routers in the area of speed. I am concerned that one device positioned at either end of my house - as limited my my ethernet connection & periphery devices - will not provide sufficient signal strength throughout the house.
I am not giving up on this Wireless Router, because it has so much potential! I will attempt to swap it out with a replacement unit, and retest. I will submit an update to my test report at that time.

If this device has no battery backup, why are batteries included in the shipping? I don't want to be awakened disputing the night because the battery needs changing. I have a 24 foot ceiling and can't climb up every three to six months to change them.
Both the electric plug-in and the battery model have Lithium Battery back-up. These batteries typically last 5 years. This is completely unlike the Smoke Alarms from years past, which often lasted only 3 to 6 months, as you pointed out.

What happens if internet connection is lost or wifi signal lost? Will you know if house is on fire if you are away? I specification 3G connectivity is mentioned, do I have to pay subscription?
There is no subscription - it uses your Wi-Fi. If you lose internet connection or lose Wi-Fi, you maintain full protection in your home, but will not know if your house is on fire if you are away.
