The Insignia 35 Watt Dual Port USB-C Compact Wall Charger is tailor made for the traveller who needs to charge an Apple iPhone & an Apple Watch or an Android Smartphone & an Android Smartwatch. This powerhouse is even capable of charging the iPad or other tablet, or the Apple MacBook.
Measuring a meager 1.56" X 1.52" X 1.25" and featuring prongs for inserting in a wall receptacle that fold flat, it slips easily into your pocket, purse, backpack, or carry-on luggage.
The total output is 35 Watts & the full fast charge output power is available from either port. You can charge two devices simultaneously, which is why this is my go-to wall charger when packing for a trip.
The color is white, so it blends with your cables & devices. The finish is said to be flame retardant. This charger features a solid build and sports a quality feel.

Video Doorbell Installs Wireless or Wired Easily

The Wyze - Wireless Video Doorbell Camera Pro is the easiest to install doorbell camera that I have encountered - and I have installed doorbell cameras from all of the well known manufacturers. One reason for such an easy installation is your choice of connecting it wired, using existing doorbell wiring, or you can connect it wireless, powered by an internal Li-Ion rechargeable battery. I chose to install it where no present doorbell exists, at the Garage Door. Simply fasten the doorbell to the side of the garage door, using 3M mounting tape. No wires required. Make a simple connection using the Wyze app and you are broadcasting live video. You are also connected to the hub, which is a speaker that you can plug into any receptacle, preferably up to 30 feet away. Recharge the battery in several months, as needed.
This is the only video doorbell I have tested that can connect to your 5Ghz Wi-Fi Network for maximum network performance; the other video doorbells only connect to the interference-prone 2.4Ghz Network. It produces a clear 1440p HD video. I attached 2 photos showing actual image of my garage door, down the drive, across the street & the neighbors' houses. The clarity is fantastic!
CONCLUSION:
The Wyze Wireless Video Doorbell Camera Pro is a stylish video doorbell that produces clear video & is priced at the low end of the competition. The included hub chimes (as the doorbell itself) but is not particularly loud. Programmable chimes including barking dogs are not options with this doorbell. A paid subscription that unlocks person & package identification is optional. This doorbell offers a very good value for the money.

Acer Chromebook Spin 714 is Tops in the Classroom

PRELIMINARY OBSERVATIONS:
The Acer Chromebook Spin 714 Laptop is the best tool I have discovered for use in the classroom. The 14.0" diagonal screen offers the perfect size / weight combination. The 2-in-1 Touchscreen enables quick response - something absolutely essential to keep you fully interactive in the classroom. The Intel Evo Core i5 includes 8GB RAM & an ultrafast 256GB SSD with no moving parts to break. The color is Slate Blue: it is beautiful & does not distract.
DETAILED OBSERVATIONS:
The stylus is not only included, it is literally built into the lower laptop frame where it stays charged. Simply remove it gently with a fingernail & it is immediately ready to write & draw on the screen. The stylus is so well hidden, I thought it was accidentally omitted from the box & Googled it, only to discover where it resides.
The most fantastic benefits for classroom use are the super fast boot up time (almost instantaneous) & the easy to use Chrome Operating System by Google. Simply go to the Google Store to load apps. There is no learning curve to set it up, or to operate it.
When relaxing at night, this laptop is an entertainment machine! I loaded Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube & other websites. Load the passwords one time, then simply choose your preferred source of entertainment with one click. You are connected within a few seconds.
CONCLUSION:
The Acer Chromebook Spin 714 Laptop is an ideal aid for the classroom. It is also a pure fun, entertainment center. I HIGHLY Recommend it!

Pristine Audio Quality Microphone for Vloggers

The JOBY Wavo PRO camera-mounted shotgun microphone is designed to capture higher quality sound than what can be picked up by a DSLR or a smartphone. Weighing a meager 10.12 oz, and measuring 5.39" X 1.14" X 4.33", it is durably constructed, primarily of aluminum & ABS Plastic.
The microphone's internal Li-Ion rechargeable battery is easily charged with the included USB-C to USB-A cable. Fully charged, the claimed battery life is 60 hours (50 hours with Noise Reduction on). My testing showed this to be accurate. The microphone connects to your camera using a traditional 3/8" universal mount for Cold-shoe connection.
My favorite feature is the brilliantly designed, common sense Green Light, which is a Recording Indicator, as shown in my photos. This green light changes color as audio volume changes; it is super easy to confirm the audio is being properly recorded by glancing at it.
The accompanying app is my least favorite feature. The App has great promise, featuring beautiful graphics & various equalization settings. The App is bluetooth connected to the microphone. In my experience, the Bluetooth connection would drop out repeatedly, even after updating the microphone's firmware & fully charging the microphone. The microphone is so easy to use & feature rich, most times I would just skip using the App.
The integrated Active Noise Reduction by itself is worth the cost of the microphone. It does an amazing job of reducing annoying sounds associated with adjusting your camera & moving around.
CONCLUSION:
The JOBY Wave Pro really stepped up my game. If not for the App that would not stay connected, I would have rated it 5 Stars. Highly Recommended.

Sonos "Ray" Entry Level 2.0 Soundbar Packs a Punch

Sonos builds an ecosystem of soundbars, speakers & audio equipment that expertly distributes multi-room audio. They have established a large following of enthusiastic users who support the Sonos system design & use the Sonos phone app. "Ray", this new soundbar designed by Sonos, will be a big hit to those customers who have already invested in the Sonos infrastructure.
Measuring only 22 inches wide, Ray is designed to enhance the sound of televisions & gaming consoles in small listening rooms. The audio is crisp & clear. There is no wireless or internal sub, so Ray will not dazzle you with rocking bass performance. It does, however, produce a punchy mid bass & a clear voice for its modest size.
Surprisingly, RAY does not sport an onboard HDMI jack that is commonplace on Soundbars costing much less. Audio from your TV is connected via an IR Optical input jack. This old method of conveying audio limits the clear sound to 2 channels: no Atmos, Dolby Digital plus, nor DTS-HD, is possible.
No remote control is included & RAY does not display an array of LED's through the grill cloth, the most common means of seeing what volume level to which your soundbar is set. My TV remote was incompatible with RAY, so I had to install the Sonos iPhone App to control volume, equalization, etc. in addition to the TV remote, which did not control the optical signal to RAY.
CONCLUSION: RAY is the lowest cost, entry level Sonos soundbar. It looks great, is well built & is a welcome addition to existing Sonos users. However, without HDMI, a remote, volume indicator or subwoofer, Ray may not offer the best value for those not using the Sonos infrastructure.

Good Product IF it Pairs With Your Air Conditioner

Mysa Smart Thermostat is made to pair with portable air conditioners, or mini-splits. It is beautifully made & has a massive LED display that can easily be read across the room. The thermostat is about the size & shape of a deck of playing cards & includes a heavy duty stand to orient it in a perfect position on a desk. The color of the thermostat is white & clear. This neutral tone is very attractive & blends perfectly with any decor.
Mysa Customer Support is very helpful & when I was unable to pair it with my new GE Portable Air Conditioner, they stayed in close contact & came up with a code which partially pairs the Thermostat with my GE Air Conditioner. Unfortunately, they were never able to pair the set point with my A/C unit. So I can read the room temperature across the room, I can turn the A/C On and Off & read other data, but I cannot adjust the A/C set point temp from Mysa. I have to use the remote that came with the GE Air Conditioner to adjust the desired temperature.
The clear across-the-room temperature display is so convenient & useful, I elected to keep Mysa & use the GE remote to adjust the room temperature.
CONCLUSION:
The Mysa Smart Thermostat is a very cool product that adds programmability & flexibility to your A/C control. Just be prepared to deal with possible compatibility issues. Mysa Customer Service will provide you great support, should you encounter difficulties.

Canon Turns Printing Into an Affordable Pleasure

The Canon MAXIFY MegaTank GX6021 offers beautiful color and black & white printing at the lowest cost per page - as much as 80% lower than high-yield laser cartridges! Printing at a cost of less than 2 cents-per-page relieves stress from printing cost & frequently running out of high-priced ink worries.
The MAXIFY GX6021 employs a 4-Color Pigment Ink System, producing crisp color & black & white printing. The "Mega Tanks" included with this machine print up to 6,000 Black & 14,000 Color pages! I was concerned about spilling ink as I poured these 4) cartridges into the printer. Not to worry! The nozzles are built in such a way where the ink container must make full contact with the printer to release the ink, making it virtually impossible to leak or spill even a drop of ink. More Canon Quality!
There are 2) places to load paper in this printer: the bottom tray holds up to 250 sheets of paper & the rear compartment holds 100 sheets. This high capacity is appropriate, since it prints at high speed: up to 24 Impressions per minute black & 15.5 Impressions per minute color.
The touch-sensitive color display is crisp & clear & gives you full control of options without a computer. The only issue I found with this printer is: by default, it shuts itself off after several hours of non-use. When shut off, it no longer receives WiFi print commands without going to the printer & pressing the Power On button. To eliminate this inconvenience, select Menu on the display, choose Device Settings: ECO: Turn Auto Power OFF.
CONCLUSION:
The Canon MAXIFY GX6021 offers fantastic quality printing at the lowest cost & is a premium quality-built machine. It earns my highest recommendation.

Let the Robots Vacuum & Mop Your Floors With Vigor

This is the perfect combination for maintaining a clean floor with basically zero effort! The iRobot Roomba i3+ empties itself into a clean bag in a deep storage bin. Unlike the earlier generation robots, no more digging in a small crevice to extract the dirt is required! The i3+ brilliantly returns to it's dock to recharge; a powerful cyclone fan emanates from the storage silo, and all of the dirt is extracted into the storage bin! If the robot runs out of battery power, or fills up the internal dirt storage, it navigates back to it's base, recharges, empties the dirt, then finishes the vacuuming right where it left off!
I have owned 6 vacuum robots to date, but the i3+ impresses me more than any other. The attractive sweeping lines it leaves on the carpet are perfectly straight. Using the i3+, you get the feeling that this is a polished product, tested for generations & honed to perfection. It is a keeper!
The Braava jet m6 is equally as impressive as the i3 Vacuum. Again, perfectly straight lines. I like the fact that it is built to use Bona floor cleaning liquid, considered the top-of-the-line. It sprays ahead of motion, just as a Bona mop, then moves back and forth using a genuine Bona mop pad. The results are magnificent! Clean, shiny floor. The pad is machine washable.
The vacuum & the mop are stand alone; you can locate them on different floors, if you choose. Both create a detailed map of your floor, which enables you to select the target area to be cleaned by simply touching that portion of the map, or direct it to clean everywhere.
CONCLUSION:
I am highly impressed by this combination by iRobot & recommend it without hesitation.

How do you charge the cameras?
An included magnetic cord with USB is used to charge the battery. Simply place it on the bottom of the Ultra Camera & it sticks & electrically connects to the camera. You have the option of keeping power on the battery during use, if a wall outlet is handy.

I have an Eero wireless router with 3 satellite ports. It works well in my 2 story home. Do the cameras need to be 50 to 100 ft from the base or from the Eero satellite port?
The cameras must directly interact with the Base. The "Smart" features are actually in the Base. I am finding much greater distance than the quoted distance of the Ultra camera rom the Base. The base plugs into the router via Ethernet, so the Wireless Router distance to the camera does not matter.

How long do batteries last on the cameras
The answer totally depends on the amount of motion the camera sees. In a quiet environment, I saw nearly 2 months of battery life. In a high motion environment, I had to charge it about once / week. By motion, I mean a dog or a person alerting the camera to motion.

What is the difference in using these vs. buying a few thermostats for my home? Do I only need one thermostat for my home and then allow these to control the temperature in each zone?
These allow one thermostat to be temperature controlled from any room in the house with this sensor. Plus, the Nest App will show the actual room temp at every room where you placed a sensor.
By contrast, if you bought a few thermostats for your house, and tried to pull the wires from your HVAC to each thermostat, you would still need manual switches to go from 1 to 2 to 3, for example, because only 1 thermostat can connect to 1 HVAC at a time. That would be a nightmare.

The product page shows that a $25 rebate is available to purchasers in Cape Cod. The MA-saves website shows no option to get such a rebate. Which is correct ??
The rebate would be through your utility company. I would recommend calling your local utility company in Cape Cod & ask them to send you the rebate form.

Why it is not able to connect to my laptop? It works well with the iphone.
The headphones may be automatically connecting to your iPhone, retaining that connection, and if so, cannot connect to your laptop if it is nearby, as Bluetooth can connect to only one source at a time.
Power your iPhone off as a test, or, if you prefer, simply swipe up the screen from the bottom & select Bluetooth OFF.
Then go to settings on your laptop - Bluetooth - make visible. Press & hold the headphone power button on. Look for the headphones on your laptop Bluetooth list. It should be there now. Click on the WH-CH700N.
Power your iPhone back on, or restore Bluetooth, which you previously turned off.
Power your iPhone off as a test, or, if you prefer, simply swipe up the screen from the bottom & select Bluetooth OFF.
Then go to settings on your laptop - Bluetooth - make visible. Press & hold the headphone power button on. Look for the headphones on your laptop Bluetooth list. It should be there now. Click on the WH-CH700N.

Can you activate Google Assistant with the mic like you can Siri? I didn't see it listed as a feature.

You can activate an assistant with the WH-CH700N the same as you can with the iOS Home button.
If you can activate Google Assistant by pressing the Home Button & speaking into the phone, then you can activate Google Assistant with the WH-CH700N.
However, if you press the Home Button & it only brings up Siri, that is the same result to expect from WH-CH700N.
Go to Settings - Accessibility - Home Button - Voice Control. If you can get Google Assistant to open, then the answer to your question is YES.
I tried, but was unable to get the phone to open Google Assistant by voice.
