Amazon really built a winner with their stand alone Echo!! So much a winner, in fact, that the market opened up for a Bluetooth or hard wired "Mini Me" that offers the same capability with much lower cost & a smaller footprint! Hence, the Dot, Generation 2, was born!
I highly recommend the Dot if you want to connect it to an existing sound system via Bluetooth or hard wire.The Dot can even direct the closest Dot to respond to the person asking questions - try that with Echo & you will get a verbal response from ALL within earshot!

Wireless Speaker Rocks the House!

I bought a Definitive Technology W9 to try one out. The sound quality alone impressed me enough, I bought a second one the following week.
The W9 has a lot of punch in the mid bass frequency, due to the dual 5 1/4" drivers. The soft dome tweeters produce clear, natural highs. Dialog is easy to understand because the mids are well balanced.
An unexpected feature is the DTS communication between the W9, the smaller W7, and the W Studio Soundbar. I returned to buy the W Studio Soundbar. The free app allows you to connect all of the W9's, the W7's and the W Studio's you may own, in a whole house music system that is super easy to use. You can connect virtually any online music stream from Sirius XM to Pandora & many others to any W devices, or all W devices at once!
Because I use Apple Airport Express' to convey sound to various rooms throughout the house in an existing network, I plugged an Airport Express into the optical digital input of the W9. The attached photo shows one W9 with the Airport Express sitting on top of the wireless speaker.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the W9! They sound very similar to the discontinued Bowers & Wilkins W7, which I use and also connect via Airport Express because the wireless receiver in the B&W is very weak & constantly drops a signal. I have recently shipped my B&W for service: that cost a lot, and the B&W suffers from software issues, which the Definitive Technology does not. The W9 is the best sounding wireless speaker I have auditioned & purchased to date!

Great Specs; Ultra Slow Performance = Defective?

The WRT AC3200 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi Router has amazing specifications!! Enough to tempt me from my 2) existing Apple Time Capsule 3.0TB Router / Hard Drives. I have over 95) devices connected, so the possibility of boosting speed to an even higher level than at present is appealing.
I connected this router, updated firmware & set it up by the book.
First observation: A lot of great whistles and bells! Every connected device is identified by name, complete with an icon for each device!
Second observation: You can prioritize up to 3) devices, and even hold bandwidth for them!
Third observation: Front panel display is much more intriguing than the 2+ year old Apple TC's. It is very informative.
Fourth observation: USB 2.0 & USB 3.0 jack on the back is super convenient for connecting an external hard drive and a printer.
Fifth observation: Many, many options available on the free Linksys Smart WiFi app! I loaded the app on 2) iPad Pro's & 1) iPhone 6S+. It is a great app, super intuitive & very flexible.
BUT HOW DOES IT PERFORM???
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!!
Apple TC speed via ethernet: 301 Mbps
Apple TC speed via WiFi: 245.99 Mbps at 5' from router
Apple TC speed via WiFi: 245.99 Mbps at 5' from router

Worse yet, WRT AC3200 speed dropped to 11 Mbps before disconnecting most of the 95+ devices!
HOW WAS THE EXPERIENCE, SPECIFICALLY?
9) Big A** Haiku Fans (substitute "ss" for the real name of the high tech fan manufacturer), their related wall switches & Haiku Lights would not connect
4) DropCam (Nest) cameras would not connect
50 feet away, a Speed Test could not get enough signal to run a test!
iDevices all went offline, not enough signal to work.
59) HUE Lighting Bulbs connected to 2) Hue hubs would not operate.
4) WINK Relays went offline, and could not connect.
1) Netatmo Welcome Camera with Facial Recognition could not come online.
2) iRobot 980 Vacuums could not come online.
14) Apple Airport Express units used for sound would not connect.
4) DropCam (Nest) cameras would not connect
50 feet away, a Speed Test could not get enough signal to run a test!
iDevices all went offline, not enough signal to work.
59) HUE Lighting Bulbs connected to 2) Hue hubs would not operate.
4) WINK Relays went offline, and could not connect.
1) Netatmo Welcome Camera with Facial Recognition could not come online.
2) iRobot 980 Vacuums could not come online.
14) Apple Airport Express units used for sound would not connect.
I called the Technical Support Line at Linksys & was helped by Jack for over an hour. We switched off 2.4, then 5, then restored to factory settings. Jack concluded this is a defective piece. Linksys Customer Service is closed on Saturdays, so I must call Monday morning to arrange for an exchange.
The reason why I use 2) Apple TC3.0 Time Capsules at present is: They are at opposite ends of my 3,500 sq. ft. house. They are ethernet connected; one serves as the router; the other to extend the network. This provides the maximum bars of signal strength throughout the house. The specs of the WRT AC3200 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi Router suggest it can easily outperform the older Apple routers in the area of speed. I am concerned that one device positioned at either end of my house - as limited my my ethernet connection & periphery devices - will not provide sufficient signal strength throughout the house.
I am not giving up on this Wireless Router, because it has so much potential! I will attempt to swap it out with a replacement unit, and retest. I will submit an update to my test report at that time.

I installed a BAS Ceiling Fan with light kit in my bathroom. (I cannot list the name because Best Buy thinks it is profanity). Unfortunately, wiring from the overhead fixture is tied to the vanity light. The ceiling fan is a smart, connected product that needs to stay energized all of the time. I solved this by installing 6) HUE bulbs in the vanity fixture & programmed them to this wireless wall switch. This allows touch control of the vanity light, while the smart fan / light kit sense motion & come on automatically.
The programmable light switch looks like a wired switch, works just as reliably & is easy to program. Highest recommendation!

The Hue Go is one of my favorite lights in the Hue collection. I use them as a "sphere of color". I sit one on each boring looking AirPlay speaker, plug it in, and select a color for the mood desired in that room. this is my 5th Hue Go. It sits on top of a large, ugly, boring Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). Hue Go has feet, just for this use, so you look at the flat edge of color. Timers are set for automatic on/off color change throughout the day.
Another added benefit is, because it is also battery powered, should the power go off, grab one and go - you have a light for several hours without searching for a flashlight.
Most will probably use this light as a rechargeable carry around mood light. We don't. They each stay in a fixed location. For us, it is the "color ambiance" that they provide that is so cool!

As an early HUE adopter, I started with each bulb variety & the original Lightstrips. This updated Lightstrip is 10X brighter than the original!
I have an unusual use for my first 2) Lightstrip Plus: I bought a wall clock that plays music with the internal Clarion System. The light sensor in this clock will not allow the sound to play, because it thinks our Family Room is too dark so it keeps it silenced! So I installed 2) strips on the back of 2) contemporary Pole Lights, so the lights are not seen from the room. They flood the walls with light, and the clock chimes beautiful music every hour! I use the HUE Alarm function to turn the Lightstrip Plus off during the night, and anytime I want silence.
They are a wonderful product and work better than I could have imagined, based on comparisons with the original Lightstrip!!

This extra long, extendable pick-up tool works with the battery powered Dyson vacs, as well as the upright and the canister models. It is completely different from the tool that is included with Animal. It extends out if you choose, and reaches 3 times further than the stock model. It is thinner, and the flexible element is rubber, so it bends around corners.
I find it extremely useful, and bought 3 so one is onboard with the canister model, and two snap on the holder for 2) battery Dyson stick vacs for easy access.

How do you charge the cameras?
An included magnetic cord with USB is used to charge the battery. Simply place it on the bottom of the Ultra Camera & it sticks & electrically connects to the camera. You have the option of keeping power on the battery during use, if a wall outlet is handy.

I have an Eero wireless router with 3 satellite ports. It works well in my 2 story home. Do the cameras need to be 50 to 100 ft from the base or from the Eero satellite port?
The cameras must directly interact with the Base. The "Smart" features are actually in the Base. I am finding much greater distance than the quoted distance of the Ultra camera rom the Base. The base plugs into the router via Ethernet, so the Wireless Router distance to the camera does not matter.

How long do batteries last on the cameras
The answer totally depends on the amount of motion the camera sees. In a quiet environment, I saw nearly 2 months of battery life. In a high motion environment, I had to charge it about once / week. By motion, I mean a dog or a person alerting the camera to motion.

The rebate would be through your utility company. I would recommend calling your local utility company in Cape Cod & ask them to send you the rebate form.

Why it is not able to connect to my laptop? It works well with the iphone.
The headphones may be automatically connecting to your iPhone, retaining that connection, and if so, cannot connect to your laptop if it is nearby, as Bluetooth can connect to only one source at a time.
Power your iPhone off as a test, or, if you prefer, simply swipe up the screen from the bottom & select Bluetooth OFF.
Then go to settings on your laptop - Bluetooth - make visible. Press & hold the headphone power button on. Look for the headphones on your laptop Bluetooth list. It should be there now. Click on the WH-CH700N.
Power your iPhone back on, or restore Bluetooth, which you previously turned off.
Power your iPhone off as a test, or, if you prefer, simply swipe up the screen from the bottom & select Bluetooth OFF.

You can activate an assistant with the WH-CH700N the same as you can with the iOS Home button.
If you can activate Google Assistant by pressing the Home Button & speaking into the phone, then you can activate Google Assistant with the WH-CH700N.
However, if you press the Home Button & it only brings up Siri, that is the same result to expect from WH-CH700N.
Go to Settings - Accessibility - Home Button - Voice Control. If you can get Google Assistant to open, then the answer to your question is YES.
