Picked this up on a whim to take a trip back down memory lane. Forgot how bonkers these characters were. If you are a fan of the show then this goes nicely in the collection but not sure how well it would hold up if you want to get it for the children of today. Surprised with how much social commentary was in this show, did not remember that part. Can't say that I loved rewatching it as an adult. Just seemed a little too much for me now but I guess it was interesting to take a look back at a show I watched as a child. I'd say it's worth watching one or two episodes but not worth getting the entire set.

This is one of the better X-Men films and Bryan Singer and company finally managed to put almost all of the original X-Men crew, and the new, all together in one film. Whether you prefer the new X-Men cast or the old, this film gives you a little bit of both while at the same time still delivering an interesting and captivating story. I picked up the steelbook option because I wanted to add it to my steelbook collection but truthfully you don't really get any additional content. So if you already own the movie, the steelbook isn't a necessity unless you are like me and just want to add it to the collection.

This film was a surprise hit of 2015. Fantastic story, phenomenal action, intriguing characters, and amazing world building! What more could you ask for? If nothing else, this film has one of the coolest fight scenes put on screen. I picked up the steelbook option because I wanted to add it to my steelbook collection but truthfully you don't really get any additional content. When this movie first came out I couldn't believe there wasn't a steelbook option. Once I saw this was available, I jumped at the chance to order it. Love the box design and it goes perfect with my steelbook collection. Wish they would have started with this when it first came out. I do have to say, it doesn't give you any additional content though, so this would be a purchase only for obtaining the steelbook for your colelction. As for the movie, one of the big surprise hits of 2014. Instant favorite for it's intriguing world of mafia thugs and assassins, the amazing action, cool cars, and attention to detail with the choreography.

This film picks up right after the events of the first. I get the impression he rested up a bit and then set out for his new mission. This is a fantastic sequel that gives you more of what was given to you in the first film. Additionally, it does a great job of explaining a little more about the assassin world that Wick lives in. Plus, we get more rules of the Continental. If you liked the first you will like this movie too. As for the steelbook option, you get no additional materials with the steelbook copy so if you buy the steelbook it's only because you want the steelbook for your collection.

Hollywood Should Give Us More Musicals

Huge fan of this film. This film was not on my "must watch" list of last year but ended up being a pleasant surprise. I kept hearing how amazing this movie was and it seemed like there wasn't a single negative review so when it finally came out in my home town theater I rushed to see it. I enjoyed the songs and the whole theatrical production of the film. Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone share such amazing chemistry that their emotional connection feels real and their characters' passions for jazz and acting radiate from their performances. After the movie I found myself singing the opening song on my way home with a huge smile.
However, my girlfriend hated the film. She said there was too much singing and she did not like the performances. Her final critique was "Hollywood should stop trying to make musicals happen again." I thought it was important to note that this movie is not for everyone but there are those of us (a whole lot of people actually) who really enjoyed it. Don't listen to her, take my advise and see this film, it is definitely worth a watch.
As for the steelbook, I believe this is actually NOT a steelbook priority. It does not provide any other incentives other than having the steelbook. I purchased the steelbook only because I am a collector of the steelbook sets but the cover design does not push this too a must have. Save a few bucks and get the regular box set, unless of course you are like me and want all the steelbooks.

Listed as the number one superhero movie of all time on Rotten Tomatoes, the latest addition to the world of the X-Men completely defies expectations and earns it's high praise by the director, by Hugh Jackman, and fans across the world. It is a film that is daringly dark, ferociously violent, surprisingly heartfelt, and painfully heartbreaking. The acting in this film surpasses any of the previous superhero movies that have come before it and it will be a shame if Hugh Jackman (Logan) and Patrick Stewart (Professor Charles Xavier) do not get nominated at this years Oscar's. Even if you have never seen an X-Men film in the past, or if you are not a fan of superhero movies, this film is a must see and feels closer to an old school western film than a superhero film.
Apart from that, the steelbook version is a must for any movie collector. The cover art alone is worth the purchase (art by comic book artist Steve McNiven). This option includes the Blu-Ray and 4K version of not only the theatrical version but also a full black and white "noir" version of the film which provides an extra layer of depth to the dark and emotional tale. With that being sad, if you are not a "collector" of steelbook covers then you can receive the same thing by purchasing the regular disc set at a lower price but if you ask me, it's worth the couple extra bucks for the cover art!
Don't miss this film! It truly is one of the best.

Watching the trailer of this film you might think "hmm that looks decent" but after watching it you will say "wow that was freakin amazing!" One of the big surprise films of last year. If you're a fan of John Wick, Jason Bourne, Die Hard, etc., you will be a fan of this movie. Interesting take on a character, lots of subtleties, lots of action, good character development, surprise twists and turns, and a cool underground world of assassins and mercenaries makes this a must see film for any action/suspense fan.

If you are a fan of the Star Wars franchise then I am sure you will enjoy this movie and I would bet you've already seen it. On the other hand, if you are new to the world of Star Wars, this film is a good one to watch that doesn't require much prior knowledge. In fact, the writers do a good job of creating a movie that isn't hindered by the previous stories and audience members can follow along without feeling lost. The other good aspect for new Star Wars fans is that this is pretty much a one-and-done story. As for the Steelbook option, I would recommend getting this set if you are collector of the Steelbook films but otherwise it doesn't really provide much else.
