Everything is great except for the metal plate is designed to stick to your device that allows it to magnetically connect to the base. The 3m adhesive did not stick for more than 10min at a time so I had to gorilla glue it to my Sat Radio receiver. All good now but that sticky strip sucks.

There is never a standard answer for this question. It depends on your environment. The amount of light in your room and the distance from which you are viewing it will effect the optimum settings. You should be able to at with it (keeping notes) and adjust each setting and use trial by error.
