Dance Formula lacks Diversity

It is great to see this form of dance music showing up in a pop context and getting acclaim beyond the underground but the brothers have boxed themselves in to a formulaic arrangement style. They have a different vocalist on each track but at times you can not tell the difference between the singers because they are all made to sound the same way and sing in the same phrasing. There are exceptions (Gregory Porter) but they are few and far between. This is not a bad CD (solid grooves, good sound, fun to dance to) but it is not a great dance CD. Give it a listen if you liked their first disc or if you like the dance music you hear in your local department stores. Enjoy.

TC finally makes an all Brazilian CD with some lyrical and dialect modifications (all lyrics are not in Portuguese). The songs are smooth and warm. This is a great CD by the pool or next to a warm fire. One of the better releases of 2014.
