I have owned a 2005 Macbook Pro that lasted 9 years. I have owned a 2012 Macbook Pro that I still use today (just upgraded to Sierra, thank you very much). I bought this 2015 Macbook Pro for my daughter for school. Though its the same size screen as my 2012, the thin, light 2015 Pro is so much nicer. You lose the optical drive, but then again, I haven't used my optical drive on my Pro for years! The price was right (especially with student discount from Best Buy) and she is a happy camper. Will probably by a thumb drive for greater HD capacity, however, most of her docs are on the cloud anyway.

My daughter was going off to college and I was thinking how much use her laptop is going to have in and out of backpack every day in multiple classes. My son had previously bought an Incase Design for his macbook pro and he loves it. So far so good! No scratches on the aluminum and the case has protected as it should. I would expect my daughter's macbook pro to last through her graduate degree with this case in place!

Is this arm-mountable (I think the term is "VESA-compliant")?
Is this arm mountable (I think the term is "VESA-compliant")? Unfortunately, it does not say it is. I am a software coder and am looking in the future to be able to put this beside another monitor, and also pivot it to vertical portrait orientation, using arms like http://www.bestbuy.com/site/vivo-dual-lcd-monitor-height-adjustable-2-screen-desk-mount-stand-multi/1311887533.p?id=mp1311887533&skuId=1311887533. Hp at http://www8.hp.com/emea_africa/en/products/monitors/product-detail.html?oid=8108228#!tab=specs says "VESA mount Adaptor sold separately", but my search doesn't turn up a 27vx adaptor for certain (closest is http://www.amazon.com/Mount-Adapter-Bracket-Monitors-2011x/dp/B00UUMACCE).
It has mounting holes in the back, similar to an LED TV (four holes in a square pattern. Hope that helps!
