This cable needs another couple feet of length. A lot of cars these days have their fuse box in the trunk - for example, my Dodge Challenger. Routing the cable the shortest route possible along the headliner, above the windows, then down through the back into the trunk left me about a foot or so short - two feet if I wanted the wire hidden in the trunk too. The Challenger is not even *that* long of a car and it's a shared platform with many other Dodge and Chrysler models, so this is going to be a common problem.
I'll have to extend the length myself, which is going to leave splices in the wires. I know how to do this safely but I would assume that many do not, so this is definitely something Thinkware should consider.
That said, I know of no other cable for Thinkware cameras so I have to recommend this if you're hardwiring - just prepare to extend the wires (or have a professional do it).

This isn't a review of the service itself (I'm still waiting for that) but the method of setting it up, which is a major hassle. I paid in advance via the web site and received instructions by email to set up an appointment through the web site or by calling a BB store. Well, the web site has no option for a dash cam install, so I tried calling my local store. First, nobody picked up. When somebody finally did, they transferred me to the Home Theater department for some weird reason. I then tried chatting with a Geek Squad rep via the web site hoping I could set up an appointment that way, and he also acted as if he didn't know what a dash camera even was. He said I was talking to the computer tech support department - no I wasn't, I was talking to Geek Squad, which is clearly what both this page and my receipt said I should be talking to about a dash cam install.
So a couple hours in now and I can't even get an appointment set up because nobody at Best Buy seems to know what a dash cam is, despite the fact that they sell them both in store and online, along with the installation service. It certainly seems like some retraining is in order.
