what do I need to purchase to get wi-fi to work with my sudden link cable network
I bought a Motorola surfboard S86121 and a belkin 598 and have had problems ever since I got them hooked up.
If your modem is not wifi capable, purchase a wifi router ($35 and up) and connect it to the modem.

Go to settings and look for wifi. Turn it on. If there is one in range, it will show up. Connection may require a password if so protected.

For most purposes, the difference is not worth noting. Cat 6 is a more well insulated cable and will withstand outside noise (interference) better than the Cat 5. For home use, go with the cheaper.

Computer for embroidery machine?
I have a complicated embroidery machine and software programs that require a lot of storage. What computer would be recommended for a small lightweight and portable machine?
I'd go with either an HP or Lenovo laptop with an i5 or (if budget allows) an i7 processor. Most come with a 1 terabyte hard drive. You can always add an external hard drive that plugs into a USB port for $60 to $110 (gives an additional 1/2 or 1 terabyte of storage).
I'd stay away from Acer, Aspire, Dell, and budget laptops.
