Practically Perfect
on August 20, 2017

from Atlanta, GA
Verified Purchase:Yes
Intro: If you want to experience what it’s like to go deaf and only be able to hear beautifully presented music, the QC35s are for you! With unbeatable noise cancellation, superb comfort, exceptional sound quality, and solid build quality, $350 may seem like a hefty price but it is worth every penny.
Design: The QC35 have practically the same design as the QC25, but with wireless controls built-in to the right earcup. The headphones feel tough and premium. The QC35 utilize Bose’s special plastic that is glass-filled nylon, soft Alcantara on the headband, memory foam in the earcup padding, slanted drivers inside for better comfort and soundstage, metal caps on the earcups, and solid clicky buttons. The mechanism for size adjustment is solid, and the QC35s can fit a wide variety of head sizes. The ear cups rotate 90 degrees, but the earcups face outward instead of inward when worn around the neck. The folding mechanism allows the QC35 to fit in the included carrying case (which is equally high quality in its build). Throughout the past two weeks of my testing, I have accidentally dropped the QC35 one or two times from around 4 feet, and they have suffered no damage whatsoever. Solid. UPDATE: I have owned the headphones for over a year now. They've been thrown into a backpack without its case, accidentally tossed on the ground during gym workouts, and I have worn them through the wear and tear of everyday life almost every day, yet with the exception of a few tiny nicks in the paint, they still look practically brand new.
Comfort: The QC35 headphones are VERY comfortable. Just the best out there with no competition. Out of all my friends who tried it, the only one who complained about comfort has a relatively small head. I have no problem wearing them for several hours in a row, so long listening sessions and airplane flights are easy. Comfort slightly improved over time, as the headband grew slightly looser through use. Due to the previously mentioned material choices and perfect clamping force, wearing these feels like having pillows hug your head. Bonus: they can also sort of function as earmuffs during colder winter seasons – they're saved my ears from freezing numb, multiple times.
Noise Cancellation: There’s really not much to say. The Bose QC35 is simply the best noise cancelling headphone in the world. Previous iterations of Bose's noise cancelling headphones and earbuds convinced me that they had perfected noise cancellation and it couldn't possibly get better, but I was wrong. The QC35 isn’t massively improved, but it is even more perfect than previous Bose noise cancelling headphones. Noise cancellation feels extremely natural because it lacks the feeling of “pressure” on your ears when being used, and there is ZERO hiss or white noise from the noise cancellation. The QC35 cancels sound so naturally and smoothly that it feels more very comfortable pair of soundproof-earmuffs than electronic noise cancelling headphones. Previously, sudden noises (such as a shutting car door) would cause the QC20 earbuds to “pop”, when it fails to cancel the sound. The QC35 handles these situations much better. Bose was already the king of noise cancelling and these just takes that a step higher.
Sound Quality: Overall, the sound is warm, full, and relaxing, but fairly neutral in general. (Although they are very neutral, their nature as being noise cancelling headphones doesn't make them a good option for audio monitoring.) Whether listening to music or watching movies, everything just sounds right. Vocals, instruments, bass notes, bass rumbles, high-frequency sparkles all isolate from each other very well. Bass is especially impressive: it’s exciting, but not overpowering whatsoever, and bass extends DEEEEP, to below 15hz with no distortion! Also, for the first time in Bose’s series of noise cancelling headphones, they sound almost equally as good turned off (and through a cable connection), as when they are turned on. Sound quality over Bluetooth is fantastic. Even the soundstage is quite respectable for a pair of closed-back, noise cancelling headphones. Sometimes I wish the sound is a little more energetic, but honestly that's just nitpicking.
Features: First off, I would like to make it clear that Bose’s claims that the QC35 has 20 hours of battery life and 33 feet of Bluetooth range are utterly false - BUT in a good way! In my testing, the QC35 lasted me upward of 25 hours on a full charge, and after the battery was drained, they charged up very quickly. Even more shockingly, I found that the QC35 has more than DOUBLE Bose’s estimated Bluetooth range. When connected to my OnePlus One smartphone via Bluetooth, the range is at least 75 feet with no obstacles. With this insane wireless range, I can leave my phone upstairs in my bedroom, walk downstairs to grab a cup of water, and walk back upstairs with almost no stuttering. It’s incredibly liberating, being free from a physical connection. Additionally, I was extremely pleased to find that the QC35's volume and play/pause controls work on Android, iOS, and Mac OS X!! Edit: after testing the QC35 on more Android devices, I found that on some devices the headphone volume controls will adjust the phone's media volume, and on other devices it adjusts its own internal volume.
Comparison to the competition: When the Sony MDR-1000x was released, they were touted around the internet as the Bose QC35 killers, but having tested a pair, I can confidently say the QuietComfort 35 is better at making the world go "Quiet", and better at being "Comfortable". The MDR-1000x has a very audible electronic hiss with active noise cancellation enabled, and is not as good at reducing the sound of voices, compared to the QC35. The QC35 is also significantly lighter with a much softer and well-distributed clamping force around the ears. In comparison, the Sony's felt hard on my head. In terms of sound, both are good in their own ways: the QC35 is smoother and more relaxed while the MDR-1000x is more aggressive/energetic, so that's just up to personal preference.
Quotes: Here are a few testimonials from my friends who tried them out. Friend A: “Spending $350 on headphones is a LOT for me, but I hate to admit that I’d be very willing to pay for these, because they’re SO GOOD.” Friend B: “(to another friend) Dude you gotta try these, it’s like being put in another universe.” Friend C didn’t say anything. He just closed his eyes and started dancing in his seat.
Conclusion: I guarantee you that the Bose QC35 will make you smile, and you will love them, regardless of who you are and what you do. So if you have enough money to spend on high-end headphones, hesitate no longer and make yourself a very lucky person by owning a pair of QC35s.

Second Best Printer I Ever Had
on February 3, 2017
Posted by: argohater
Verified Purchase:Yes
This printer is so good that it is difficult to know where to begin my accolades. It is a lot smaller than I expected, even a lot shorter in height than standard printers. Of course, its footprint is larger than a regular printer, but not by much. It is mainly a little wider than a regular printer. I'm really impressed how diminutive it appears. Canon's engineers did an excellent design job on this printer.
Setup was very easy. I used the WPS button on my wireless router and it linked almost instantly. At first I thought it must not have worked because it happened so quickly. I did not connect it via a USB cable. I'm not much of a fan of the junky L shaped desktop icon - uses up a lot of space with several icons of dubious value. I may delete it later.
You are limited to only one paper size at a time, but that's not such a big deal considering the range of print sizes you can create. I printed a 4X6 inch print, an 8.5X11 and 13X19 inch prints. That's pretty much the spectrum of what you would normally print. It is a surprisingly fast printer. It isn't an all-in-one printer; it's just a printer - no scanner, no fax and no copy capability.
I realize this is advertised to only be a business printer insinuating its photo capabilities to be perhaps at best average. But I still wanted to determine the limitations of its photo printing capability. I already own a Canon Pro-100 and the Canon Pro-9000 Mark II printer that print 13X19 photo prints, so I wasn't expecting this 5 ink printer's photo capability to be in the same league. And in some cases it isn't - it's even better than my two other photo printers for richness of colors. That doesn't mean it faithfully reproduces the original image, but it does produce very pleasing photos where fine color accuracy isn't a terribly important objective. Paper type makes a huge difference no matter which printer you are using. The paper is as important as the ink in many situations.
I really didn't want to print several duplicate 13X19 prints, but that was the only way to do a direct and fair comparison. As you would expect, the Pro-100 is clearly much better for faithful reproductions of portraits of people where skin tone and texture matter - especially on a large 13X19 inch print. However, if you didn't have a direct comparison print from a Canon Pro-100, you would still say that's a really good print. I printed several prints of scenery and historical buildings and I thought this office printer's prints actually looked better than the Canon Pro-100 printer in terms of color saturation and richness of color.

A Must Have If You Own Older And New MacBooks
on February 3, 2017

Much cheaper and easier alternative to buying an entirely new cord. Works great--the only small snag is that you need to be careful not to lose it, but I just leave it on the end of my charger cable at home--it is magnetized, so it is not that easy to lose, but it's also a small piece, so it is just being mindful of that. Haven't lost it yet, and happy with my purchase.
I just switched from an older MacBook Pro to a brand new MacBook Air, which meant my spare charger (for home and travel) was obsolete. I really didn't want to spend $70 on a new one just for use as a spare, so I'm glad I stumbled upon this adapter. It fits perfectly and I've experienced no issues so far. I consider it $10 well spent!

It's Great, But Not Perfect

***READ THIS FIRST***
Another review said that basic work related files were not supported, I can gladly say that is FALSE. The user guide for the product is a PDF. I have even tried Microsoft Document files and PowerPoint files and they all work well. Okay, now you can read my review.
Review:
I just received my Sandisk Connect Wireless Stick today in the mail, and so far I love it. This review won't be too long, since I haven't experienced more than 24 hours with this product yet, so I don't have too much to say about it.
Build Quality: To start off, the build is quite nice and I like the texture of the flash drive as well. One design flaw to me is that you can only put the cap on one way, so I've mixed it up a few times already, oh well.
Functionality: Next, functionality, it works just as you expect it to. I loaded up Iron Man 3 and streamed it to my iPhone, no lag at all, even when I skip throughout the movie. Pictures and music work well also, there is an option to create a slideshow for your photos, which is a nice touch. You are able to download pictures or videos to your device from the flash drive as well. The app has a built in music player, but you cannot skip throughout the song, which seems odd to me. It has worked well for me on all the major platforms, smartphones (through their app), tablets and computers. My biggest complaint is that the connector is USB 2.0, I think Sandisk really could have made this product stellar with a USB 3.0 connector.
The App: The app performs okay, it definitely isn't 100% polished, but it works. I have found a few bugs, which aren't huge and I'm sure they will be fixed soon enough. In the app you can upload or download files to the flash drive, I haven't had any problems with this. Another cool feature is AutoBackUp for your devices camera roll. The flash drive can store single photos or an entire album, and even videos. After you're done taking pictures and videos, the next time you connect to the flash drive it will begin backing them up.
Battery: Battery life has been phenomenal. I left this thing unplugged and turned off for more than two weeks and it's still got 90% charge (left it at 93%). Really can't complain about that. With moderate use I got a little more than a week. And with heavy use (I'm talking like you're on this thing all day) I got 3-4 days. My final word for the battery life is, wonderful.
Well, that's about it for now. Thanks for reading!

A small phone with great performance
on February 3, 2017

The iPhone 5S feels like a "pro" phone more than ever, the iPhone equivalent of the MacBook Pro. Its features don't feel as immediately consumer-understandable. For many, the iPhone 5C will do just fine. The biggest wished-for features -- a MacBook Air-level battery life improvement and an even larger screen -- aren't on either new iPhone yet.
If you're deep in the Apple ecosystem, the 5S could be the first step toward some new directions. Its improved speed, graphics, and elements of battery efficiency make it a better phone than the iPhone 5, in case you've waited to upgrade.
But if you already have an iPhone 5, I'd say it's not a bad year to upgrade to 6/6s or 7.

Rivals the Vitamix, at one-fifth the cost
on February 3, 2017
Posted by: argohater
Verified Purchase:Yes
This is a GREAT blender that rivals my much more expensive Vitamix. I’ve taken a break from my Vitamix 5200, which retails for 5 times the cost of this blender, to test this one out for a week. I love it! It gives my Vitamix a run for the money. Here are some observations:
For chopping, this blender is impressive. It looks so much like a food processor that I tried chopping an onion, and got acceptable results. I would absolutely use this for that. (The Vitamix can’t do this at all.)
For ice crushing, YES! Yes, yes, yes. Snow in blazingly fast time. Sno-cones, margaritas, whatever, this blender has that application covered. Fantastic results, far better than the Vitamix.
For pulverizing, I thought it was very good. This was the area that the Vitamix outshone the Ninja, but I think the Ninja did just fine. In my homemade jalapeño-coleslaw dressing, the blender didn’t quite get all the jalapeño pulverized, and there were little chunks still in the dressing. The Ninja had a little trouble pulverizing 2 large bunches of kale, and I had to stop the blender a few times to use a scraper to push the leaves down. I also needed to add some water to aid in the blending. The leaves ended up rather smoothly pulverized, although I don’t think they were quite as fine as in the Vitamix.
I love how the blades remove completely from the pitcher every single time; it not only makes it easier to scrape out all the food from the blender but also to get it perfectly clean. The Vitamix always ends up with food stuck under the blades, and if it’s something like hummus, it’s really hard to get it clean. So the design on the blades in the Ninja is brilliant. Be careful, though: those blades are sharp. I managed to to slice my hands open on two separate occasions while trying to put them in or take them out of the dishwasher.
Seriously, having tried this blender, I can’t see recommending that anyone spend the extra money for a Vitamix. This is a really nice blender.

Overall works as expected

If you do not have an Apple TV that supports Apple HomeKit his is an essential addition to the August Smart Lock.
The installation and setup seem easy enough, however, the hidden tricky part is to find the sweet spot where the Connect can get a solid Wi-Fi signal as well as a good Bluetooth connection to the Smart Lock.
Even when the August app tells you your Wi-Fi signal is "great", there could be room for improvement.
At first I connect the Connect directly to my Wi-Fi router, which is on the second floor. The August app indicates Wi-Fi SNR (at 44) and Signal (at -54) are both "Great". However, it takes about 10 to 15 seconds for the Smart Lock to respond to the lock/unlock commands issued remotely.
Then I used an old Wi-Fi router as an AP and put it near the door, have the Connect use the AP for Wi-Fi connection. This time, the readings from the app are SNR 57, Signal -42. Even better "Great". And with that, now it takes about only 5 seconds for the Smart Lock to respond to remote lock/unlock commands.
I wish this device comes with an Ethernet port for hard wiring - that should make the device even more reliable. Otherwise I would give it a 5 star.
I did not keep this product after learning that my Apple TV perform the same function. No longer needed this add'l accessory.

My Most Useful Smart Home Device
on February 3, 2017

Very happy with my first smart lock purchase. It is a bit pricey, but it works well. With just the August Lock and the App you can allow guests entry to your home (your guests need to install the app as well). With the August Connect installed, you can lock\unlock and check status of your lock over the internet. Integrates beautifully with Apple HomeKit. Note: Your Connect or Apple TV need to be in Bluetooth range of your Locks for this to work remotely.
Features I really like:
Auto Lock: I set me Auto lock for anywhere between 2-5 minutes. I never have to worry about locking the door. Leaving or arriving home, it just manages it for me. If is locked in the App... the door is locked and vice versa. GREAT FEATURE.

Top-quality cable at an attractive price
on February 3, 2017
Posted by: argohater
Verified Purchase:Yes
Well, not much to say about this product in the review. If you're on the fence about whether or not to buy this, I made a choose-your-own adventure game for you which you'll find below.
1.) Do you need an optical audio cable? If yes, go to #2; if no, go to #6.
2.) Do you like to save money when reasonable to do so? If yes, go to #3; if no, go to #6.
3.) Do you like no-frills, simple to use items that cost less than over-priced name brands that do the same thing? If yes, go to #4; if no, go to #6.
4.) Can you live without this while waiting for it to come in the mail? If yes, go to #5; if no, go to #6.
5.) Yes, buy this! See my reasons below!
6.) No, don't buy this! Like the magic 8-ball used to say, "Outlook not so good."
If you made it to #5 in the adventure, congratulations! I foresee an affordable, quality cable in your future! Honestly just check out the name of the product: Insignia™ - 6' Digital Optical Audio Cable - Black. Let's do a breakdown: it's made by Insignia, and it's a basic cable (i.e. - it's black, nothing special, just the Insignia logo), so there's 1/6th of the item name. It is, in fact, a digital audio toslink cable, so there's 2/3rd of the item name. And lastly, the length does measure out to 6 feet, so good on Insignia for having a good measuring technician (is that a real job title? I volunteer as tribute if it is.) -- but that's the last 1/6th of the item name. I'm no mathematician, but 1/6 + 1/6 + 2/3 = 6/6, which reduces down to 1 so we're all accounted for in the item name.
Was this review long for no reason? Yes. But did I have fun writing it? Yes! Was it helpful to you? Hopefully yes, and in that case hit the little yes below! If not, leave a comment and I'll address your concerns!

To upgrade or not to upgrade? That is the question
on July 7, 2016
Posted by: argohater
Verified Purchase:Yes
Since so far I am the only reviewer who actually has an iPhone SE (the other reviewers who wrote reviews before 3/31 aren't real, and the one who refers to this iPhone as the iPhone 5se is really fake [did you not bother to look at the product name!!?]), I see it as my duty to present this iPhone to you. Yes, I do have this phone (pictures provided!) and I am writing a real review.
Okay, there has been a hype for about a few months now, and the new 4" iPhone is finally here. Some important points to take note of are that this phone has the exact same body as the iPhone 5 and 5s. Literally the exact same. Unlike the 6s that was slightly larger than the iPhone 6, this iPhone will fit each and every case and screen protector made for the iPhone 5 and 5s. Really the only difference is that this phone comes with matte edges instead of chrome, and the legal labels on the back are removed.
The next point was that this phone is better than the iPhone 6 (and much cheaper). Don't let the 4" screen fool you, this iPhone's stats are mostly on par or better than the iPhone 6 (and no, bigger screen is not better). Take the resolution. 326 ppi, same as iPhone 6. A9 chip, better and faster than the A8 in the iPhone 6. If pictures are your thing, there is a 12-megapixel iSight camera, better than the one in the iPhone 6. Don't forget Improved noise reduction, also better than the iPhone 6. Don't forget the panorama that features up to 63 megapixels, you guessed it, better than the iPhone 6's 43 megapixels. Oh, and I almost forgot (not really), 4K video is a blast. For selfies, the iPhone SE now features Retina flash, or flash from the screen. Battery life: the iPhone SE has the best battery life of all iPhone for sale today in terms of internet use time.
So should you upgrade? I will start with those without a contract. If you hold any iPhone with a 4" screen or smaller, and you are free from any contracts, then yes you should upgrade. This includes current users of iPhone 1/3G/3GS/4/4S/5/5c/5s. Here's why. If you are without a contract, you probably paid more for your current phone than you will for this one. Given that you were able to afford a full price iPhone, you can definitely enjoy the features of this phone. The way I see it, this phone is the perfect way to enjoy an iPhone 6s without the huge cost (and the 3D touch).
iPhone 6 users, this one is a 50/50 call. You really should be happy with your phone, but, then again, I pretty much just trashed your phone in the specs throw down above. This one is a tough call, and one you and your wallet should decide.
Those with a contract, if your contract is almost over, rejoice, you can get this phone for free. But, since you are shopping on Best Buy for this phone, I assume you are not in a contract. However, if you are still in a contract for a while, it is up to you to decide if this phone is worth breaking your contract over.
I hope you enjoyed reading this review more than I enjoyed writing it. If you have any questions, my email is on my profile page, and you should feel free to contact me. I, however, am not a representative from Apple, and you might just get better answers there. Who knows?
