High Efficiency is strange

Although this washer is a HE washer, I find that it runs so much longer than my 1990s Maytag (RIP). It uses a lot less water and does not have the center agitator. This was a big change and I was uncertain to the operation. Washing seems to be fine, or at least I am not aware of it not being able to clean (my clothes aren't so soiled).
My machine vibrates strongly, but may just be unlevel.
Three cold settings seem strange.

Combat wrinkles and get clothes dry with this gas dryer from Maytag. It features a sanitize cycle that removes 99.9 percent of common household bacteria. The machine is equipped with an IntelliDry Sensor that automatically stops the cycle when the clothes are dry. The gas dryer has a 7.0-cubic-foot drum that holds large bedding items.

This Maytag places my old one that lasted more than 20 years. I don't have the same expectation in the current models, but hope it will last at least half of that. The additional options are better than the last with temperature control.
Don't like the wrinkle-control or at least the timer mechanism as it seems to run despite not actually operating (i.e. the timer runs when the door is closed).

Is there a quick wash setting on this washer?
No, but the quickest wash seems to be using hand wash and light soil.

Can the door on the dryer be changed to a top pull down? I find the door handle is very difficult to pull open from the left. I love the machine and wish you had a matching dryer with a top pull open dryer like the Bravo series. Would there be a cost also
I don't recall the option to have the door open downwards. It can be swapped to swing towards the left.
