Works well, range better than expected

These little guys work really well, I have it setup to notify us when either myself or my girlfriend get home. The range is pretty exceptional, we're on the 3rd floor and it triggers about 200 ft or so away on the first floor. Not sure what the battery life will be, been about 2 months and they are at 75% now.

Great if you like to tinker

I'm really enjoying this home automation kit, however that comes with a caveat. If you're looking for something with the simplicity and stability of an Apple product I'd suggest waiting on the SmartThings platform to stabilize or perhaps look at other options. If, however, you're someone that likes to experiment, create apps and apis, and are willing to forgive the occasional service interruption then this is an excellent platform. SmartThings doesn't have it's own restful API however you can create a "SmartApp" that is an entire collection of endpoints to do pretty much whatever you can think up. Is this a good solution? I'm torn, having a fully stable API that's standardized would simplify a lot of the startup, but the SmartApp way you can make whatever you want, it's hosted on Samsung servers and written in Groovy ( ick, but it gets the job done ). The developer community is active, lots of code sharing and Samsung posts a lot of smart apps code as well so it's easy to get up and running. The IDE is web based which imo is a major pita, but at least you can code anywhere and once you have an api up and running you can then code for whatever you want to interface with it.
Anyways, that's a super quick review from a geeky engineer so take it with a grain of salt.

Outstanding keyboard for the form factor

Great keyboard, there isn't much to say here... I'm a touch typist and this keyboard is top notch, not only for the form factor, which is pretty unbelievable, but also for any keyboard in general. The trackpad is performant, although it does skip a beat here and there, however as far as Windows trackpads go( why can't they get this right after all these years? ) it's by far one of the better ones I've used.
As for the Surface Pro in general? I wrote a review about that device, in short great hardware( like this keyboard ) unacceptable software and littered with OS bugs.

So much potential, a lot of fail

Long time Windows user here who switched to mac several years ago, wanted to give Windows another shot and the surface pro 4 seemed like the perfect hardware to do that, and that's where the praise stops. I don't want to understate the quality of the hardware, by far the best built windows laptop I've used, and the tablet / pen functionality is great from a hardware perspective. However...
The software is a complete failure in my opinion. I was severely disappointed as I really wanted to love this machine. Windows 10, due in part to the new Skylake processors, is full of bugs. Most of the time it would take 1 - 3 minutes just to wake, and I'd say 1 out of 10 times it wouldn't wake at all. When this happens the keyboard would light up but screen would stay black forcing me to do a hard reset. I knew about the subpar battery life heading in so wasn't surprised by that, however I was surprised that leaving the Surface in a sleep state overnight means that you wake up to 10 - 18% battery life loss over 8 hours, this is just unacceptable. My macbook pro (which I picked up when I returned the SP4 ) can go a week if I close the lid and don't touch it.
Apps are obviously the other software failure for windows in general, the app store is a joke, and after using a mac for several years I think I've been spoiled in expecting my apps to not only run well but to look appealing while doing so.
For context I'm a Software Engineer and have multiple Linux distros, Mac machines, and dual boot Win 7 on my desktop for gaming. I don't really have a strong inclination to defend / support an OS just for the love of the company, but instead support the OS that best fits my needs. YMMV

Excellent hardware with limited software options

This is a great wearable in my opinion. I was a little hesitant buying a Tizen based smartwatch and the size of the battery worried be a bit too. Then I started thinking about all the stuff I did with my Moto 360 first gen. Most of it surrounded reviewing notifications and setting timers / alarms. Well the S2 does those pretty well. The OS is buttery smooth, barely ever a hiccup and the dial interaction is great. Svoice ( Samsung's Google Voice competitor ) is completely lack luster, it rarely gets what I'm saying unless I'm speaking very loudly and has long pauses between speaking and getting a reply. Also the app selection isn't anywhere as close to what it is on Android. On the plus side the battery lasts me 2 days with time to spare with normal usage.
The battery life along with the quality of the hardware, smoothness of the OS, and watch dial interaction made this a pretty big win in my book. If they get their app store populated with more apps ( Philips Hue app please! ) then it'd be an easy 5 stars for me.

The sounds on these are decent, obviously not something like a Bose or other professional level headset but more than passable. The best thing about them are how comfortable they are, I often forget they are around my neck when not listening to them and having them retracted. These leads me to be more inclined to use them since I always have within reach.
In call quality is ok, not great, not bad, just passable. Haven't had any complaints on the other end about not being able to hear me but also haven't done extensive testing.

A solid entry level VR device...

This is a pretty solid unit for an introduction into VR. The field is obviously just in the beginning stages so don't expect HD quality displays but more than enough to get by and with only a little bit of the screendoor effect. Once Samsung releases some 4k devices it will be much better.
The head tracking is unbelievably accurate, that's probably the one thing that has impressed me the most, never skips a beat.
Apps are a little sparse but there are some gems out there. No cardboard support is a bummer but if you knowwhat you're doing ( check XDA forums ) you can easily get it to run cardboard apps by disabling the GearVR service.
