I have several older models of Western Digital, and NEVER had any problems with any of them.
With this new model, have had FITS on even trying to implement its "features". I forcibly just created a Folder and copied my data into it as backup.
On older versions, the "Unlock.exe" was obvious and easy. With this new one, you WILL have to read the manual to figure out what to do.
Why can't WD make it intuitively obvious, instead of needing to "install this, install that, do this, do that".
I had to print out the manual of 40 pages and go over the manual as I installed WD.
K.I.S.S. Why is it so difficult for vendors, software AND hardware, to figure this out??? Not that hard to figure out.

Our professional installers will disconnect your existing dryer and existing dryer vent and place and connect into an existing 110V electrical outlet and test for basic operation.

I'm reasonably happy with the dryer and it works well.
I am the one that does the wash each other Friday and have been for some time, as part of 'my' functions to help my wife around the house.
A couple of things that could be irritating:
1. Door does NOT drop down all the way - makes it a bit harder to put or pull clothes onto a flat door and scoop up everything - instead, now I need a bin to gather all the clothes in one place and carry from the garage to the house. The door opening 1/4 of the way, so clothes can slide down into the dryer - don't really need it!
2. Directions to use the dryer are not intuitive or simple. I'm still trying to figure out when I start up the Dryer, what the 'Cool' light means. Even when I have it on HOT and start it up, default is 25 minutes - which is not nearly enough to dry a load that is 3/4ths to a full load. It requires closer to one hour, so I have to manually press the Time.
3. Because our town requires the dryer to be on a stand, my wife has a hard time reaching the controls without needing a stool! At least if all the knobs are on one side, we wouldn't need to move the laundry bins from one side to the other. I myself have no trouble reaching the controls, but I also need to move the laundry bins from one side to the other when going over the controls.
Overall, I can't say that I'm overly thrilled with the dryer, and this was supposed to be one of the highest rated dryers, which is why we bought it.
My Kenmore dryer of 12-15 years old worked much simpler, with fewer controls and did an excellent job before it died. It's not that I'm against computerized appliances - just why make things more complicated than it needs to be. BTW: I'm a retired computer software manager, so ... yes, I know enough about computers.
As far as recommending ... if you can "put up" with the drawbacks, the dryer works fine.
