The complete fourth season of the present-day adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's imitable Sherlock Holmes crime drama series. Benedict Cumberbatch stars as the titular detective who cracks various crime cases for the Metropolitan Police Service in London alongside his sidekick Doctor John Watson (Martin Freeman). The award-winning adaptation is a collaboration between the BBC and PBS, and the fourth season features guest star Toby Jones as one of Sherlock's many adversaries.
Not as much fun as Guardians of the Galaxy and nowhere near as serious as Age of Ultron or Winter Soldier, but still another entertaining Marvel movie installment.
This bone chilling release from the classic horror anthology series Night Gallery includes all 19 episodes from the show's third season, telling frightening tales about terror at sea, horror on the dance floor, and even a story originated by none other than H.P. Lovecraft.
Though Night Gallery may not have found the unchallenged success of television legend Rod Serling's previous small-screen endeavor The Twilight Zone, it still gave viewers plenty of chills and a reason to leave the lights on while enjoying a nice little fright. When it was announced that Universal would be releasing the complete first season of Night Gallery to DVD, fans were up in arms at the lack of bonus materials offered by the powerhouse studio -- and even if the release does seem kind of bare-bones, one would be hard pressed to complain about the quality to which the episodes here have been restored. Each episode is presented in 1.33:1 full-frame and looks absolutely fantastic. In addition to offering well-balanced colors and even skin tones, the image is sharp and free of any visible debris or digital artifacting. Closed captioned English Dolby Digital audio is evenly mixed, with little evidence of auditory distortion and optional French and Spanish subtitles. Though there may be no bonus materials to keep fans glued to their screen until the wee hours of the morning, the episodes provided on this collection will certainly keep them awake until long after the credits have rolled.
Great horror anthology series created hosted by the Twilight Zone's Rod Serling. Includes the pilot movie which features a segment directed by Steven Spielberg.
...this is a really fun movie. What if an alien race who monitors our television broadcasts believed that those TV shows were real. That's what the cast of the Star Trekish show Galaxy Quest finds out when they are taken aboard the alien ship and asked to help in their battle against a ruthless interstellar warlord.
This release contains every episode of the series Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, one of the series created by Gerry Anderson that featured puppets.
Captain Scarlet is another great puppet series form Gerry Anderson who gave the world Supercar, Fireball XL-5, Thunderbird, Stingray, UFO and Space 1999.
