Darks look terrible

When we first hooked up this tv, the picture looked great and we couldn't believe how good it looked for the price. However, we noticed that ANY dark scenes look terrible. We have played with every setting on the tv including the advanced settings, but the dark scenes have never improved. Even the preset picture settings look terrible, and using the "movie" preset makes everything unwatchable because of how dark it is.

If there is something broken with our tv, I will gladly update this review, but right now I am very upset with this purchase.
