After having enjoyed the 3rd gen model for a few years, I decided it was time to upgrade. Mostly due to the new features and now the 3rd gen is being neglected on updates.
Form factor: Still a beauty. Small and can be placed just about anywhere. Width and length about the same and height is a bit over twice as tall.
Connections: This is what contributes to less than 5-star. The lack of a SPDIF optical port is a negative for my situation. I have an older Denon A/V amp that does not support HDMI. I really don't feel like spending another $1500.00 just to stream music so I now have to run HDMI to my TV, and then run an optical from the TV to the amp.
Streaming music: Works great if you are streaming from your MAC/PC with iTunes or from your music stored in your iCloud account. But for streaming internet radio stations, you have to use a 3rd party app for that. IMO, this is a slight ding. I'm currently searching for an app that does what I need without bloat and preferably for free. This results in the loss of another star.
Streaming video: Another area where it's great if it's coming from your PC/MAC, iTunes, etc. The addition of the TV app from Apple much improves this, but it still could be better. Other apps/services like DirecTV Now, Sling, etc are a must have if you really want video entertainment.
Siri remote: Voice commands are a welcome addition. It has worked very well in searching. But I find the touch sensor to always be either too sensitive or not enough depending on the task at hand. For best results, you should pair a bluetooth keyboard for many navigation tasks. Also, the swiping action can vary depending on the app you are using at the time. I would like to see more consistent implementation. It's a good addition that the Siri remote will also control primary TV functions.
Overall, I believe that the 4th gen Apple TV is a welcome addition to our home. I believe that it will only improve over time as more services become available. (and maybe after I'm willing to upgrade my amp)

Just five years ago I was an anti-everything-Apple. But starting with my first iPod, then onto my Mac and other iDevices I have really developed an appreciation for the design and function of iOS devices. I only switched from a landline to a smartphone a little over two years ago. When I decided to switch, iOS devices were my first choice. After having an iPad for a couple of years and a Mac convert, it was my only logical choice. My first smartphone was a 4S. Within one month of using it I could only curse myself for not migrating sooner.
Now that I have the 6, I'm even more overjoyed. With the core processor and graphics processor this thing runs circles around my old 4S. The larger screen is most welcome to my vision which now requires corrective lenses. ;) Yet, it's not so big (like the 6+) that it won't fit in the leg pocket of my cargo shorts. Paring it with my iPad and Mac shows me the symbiotic relationship that I have always wanted from my digital life. The old adage of, "It just works" has never been more true than it is today with Apple. I was also able to take advantage of the Geek Squad trade-in on my old 4S which saved me over 1/2 of the upfront cost.
TouchID is probably the one feature that I have learned to appreciate most. With the rollout of ApplePay I'm looking forward to my bank implementing it soon. iOS 8 is a great refinement of the OS. I'm also very pleased to finally abandon the last 30-pin connector device and only have Lighting connected peripherals. :)

I chose this case for my partners' iPhone 6. He had a 5 with a Defender case previously and was so happy with it that this case was the only one he would consider. The case and screen shield provides excellent protection from scratches and falls; and the ports have great flaps that seal out dirt and moisture. Due to the case being thicker than most (e.g. Commuter) it's a little more difficult to get your thumbprint registered with TouchID, but not at all impossible.

I chose this after having an OtterBox Commuter for my old iPhone 4S. I was so pleased with the protection that it provided that I knew for my 6 I needed the same case. It includes the screen protector sheet that I feel is a *must* for any smartphone. The only drawback that I can find is more due to the design of the 6, than the case. Since the screen edge is so close to the edge of the phone, it is sometimes a little difficult to get your tap to register. Prime example is when you are in the Contacts app and you are trying to jump to a letter listed on the side. It's a bit tricky to get the tap to register. Otherwise, the case and screen protector provide excellent protection from scratches and drops. Ports are covered with snug fitting rubber flaps to keep dust and moisture out, but not difficult to open when needed.

I have 2 Hunter ceiling fans with 3 bulb light fixtures. Even dimmable LEDs flicker and strobe in them when dimmed. Has anyone tried these in Hunter ceiling fans?
I don't have these in a ceiling fan, but I have had a similar issue with dimmable LED bulbs in my Kitchen light. Not sure if the cause is the bulb, the switch or just dirty power. But since these don't use a dimmer switch (that functionality is built into the bulb) you shouldn't have that issue with these. I've not noticed any flicker in my use of the Hue bulbs. Just make sure that you are not using these in conjunction with a dimmer switch. They are designed to have full power to them at all times. The app/bulb will take care of the rest.
One more thing, since your ceiling fan uses 3 bulbs, you need to get the 4 bulb starter kit. Then you will have one spare to use in another fixture. My guess is that once you try them out and see the benefits, you'll want them everywhere.
