The art of war may be thousands of years old, but on the battlegrounds of the future combat has become a big business. Where men and women once stood in defense of their nation the employees of Private Military Corporations (PMCs) are deployed, armed with the latest technologies and an arsenal of advanced weapons. Soldiers no longer need to specialize in any area of combat — equipped with powerful exoskeletons, they become the masters of all battlefield skills. In this new age of privatized combat, one PMC stands at the forefront of the industry, the juggernaut Atlas Corporation. Founded and led by Jonathan Irons, perhaps the most powerful man in the world, Atlas Corporation represents the evolution of modern combat. Under the oversight of Irons and men like him, the rules of warfare have been completely rewritten, and national borders change with the demands of the highest bidders. Do you have what it takes to navigate this ever-changing military landscape and answer the Call of Duty? The latest installment in the popular combat series, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare plunges you into the combat of the future, orchestrated and fought by PMCs with the latest technology in armor, weaponry and tactics. Enter the world of Jonathan Irons — the founder and president of the world's most dominant PMC, Atlas Corporation — in a powerful performance by Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey. Step onto the battlefield in a powerful exoskeleton that provides a massive force multiplier, delivers strategic freedom and enhances even the most adept soldier's abilities with optimized movement, jumping and grappling, covert cloaking abilities and biomechanics that take your strength, awareness, endurance and speed to the next level. Destroy opposing forces with an advanced arsenal that allows you to dominate the battlefield and all-new equipment, abilities and perks that put you at the forefront of combat technology. Conduct missions with hoverbikes, highly specialized drones and other new vehicles that enhance your mobility. Attack enemy forces with tried-and-true standard ammunition or step up your assault with new directed-energy weapons. The future of war is upon you — are you ready to play your part?

Typical Call of Duty.

Gameplay is just like all the rest with the extra ability to jump and double jump around. Interesting but makes me think of Halo. Not impressed. I play the classic mode mainly. Don't care for all the jumping around. Maps are smallish with horrible spawns due to the map size.

Don't bother with the bonus CD. The second CD only has 5 tracks whereas 2 are songs. Decent songs but not worth the extra for them. The other 3 tracks are garbage. The main CD is excellent. Worth the money.

You are Talion, Ranger of the Black Gate. For what seems like eons, you have guarded the entrance to Mordor, keeping watch over Sauron's undisturbed dwelling place with relative uneventfulness. Your family, your friends — even your very life is taken from you in one fell swoop that leaves your soul desolate and filled with an eternal rage. Resurrected by an unforgiving spirit, you have one purpose to your life, one thing that keeps your heart pumping and your mind from giving in to the relentless grief — vengeance. Prepare yourself to embark on a dogged vendetta that calls upon you to fight your way through Mordor and uncover the truth of the spirit who compels you. This epic tale of revenge and redemption transforms you into the most feared force in the land — the Shadow of Mordor.Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor delivers a dynamic game environment where the player orchestrates their personal plan of vengeance as they bend Mordor to their will. The game begins on the night of Sauron's return to Mordor, as his Black Captains brutally execute the Rangers of the Black Gate. Players become Talion, a ranger who loses his family and everything he holds dear, only to be returned from death by a mysterious Spirit of vengeance. Based on the player's actions with the in-game Nemesis System, every enemy encountered is distinct and can evolve to become a personal archenemy through the course of the game. As Talion's personal vendetta unfolds, players uncover the mystery of the Spirit that compels him, discover the origin of the Rings of Power and confront the ultimate nemesis.

Unfortunately this game is almost unplayable at times. I am in contact with WB games about it. The sound cuts out & the frame rate will drop out during battle sequences giving you a lagged out feel. My son watched me play it and said that if he had bought that game he would have thrown it across his apartment. Very frustating. I was expecting way more. This game is incredible on the new systems but to me it seems like they never should have put it out on the ps3.
