Does the light go on during operation and when the door is open on the white model, or is it only on the stainless steel model. There seem to be different answers depending on the color of the unit.
I have the stainless steel model. The light comes on only when the unit is operating. It's my understanding that all three units are the same except for exterior color.

Is there any reason why it would not work well in an enclosure 24"wide, 17"deep, and 15.5"high?
If those are enclosed dimensions, it doesn't sound like there's adequate room for ventilation.

What is the button to press 45 seconds?
I just received the microwave. My mother tried to heat something and she pressed 4 on to hit 45 seconds and instead came to 4 minutes instead? Is there a button to press 45 seconds? I know there is a 30 second button but I need to know the button for 45 seconds. Thanks.

To operate for 4 minutes just hit 4
To operate for 4 minutes 30 seconds you have to do the following:
1. Push "Stop/Clear" on lower left corner of pad.
2. Push "Power Level"
3. Push "4","3" and "0".
4. Push "Start" on the lower right corner of the pad.
You won't find this simple instructions in the booklet accompanying the unit.

No, only when in operation. I miss this feature since it makes cleaning the interior easier.
