This is the actual case that is designed for the kindle fire so why fight it go with what fits. I like the magnetic flap that either holds it open or shut no flapping about. Though I have not tried this function it does appear that you can fold the flap and it will hold the tablet upright.

Did not set out to buy a kindle fire

I was just looking for a tablet to take on vacation with us rather than drag a laptop in carry on luggage. I had purchased a 7 inch tablet and when I got it home I was seriously concerned by how thin and flimsy it felt. I took it back and actually went to the tablet section so I could pick it up and get a feel for it and ended up choosing the kindle fire because it felt sturdier. I may or may not actually put any books on it, it remains to be seen.

Install went easy and works well. The only complaint is that you really have to push firmly on the numbers to set the heat time....I mean really firmly.
