The New Nintendo 3DS XL is everything that the original Nintendo 3DS XL is except the built in Amiibo support and some additional buttons. That being said, if you liked the 3DS XL then you'll like this, just make sure that those things are worth it if you are upgrading.

If you have any other amiibos than really the only difference between them are looks and what they unlock. The Bowser amiibo unlocks a pretty adorable Yoshi skin in Yoshi's Woolly World and have used it in Mario Tennis Ultra Smash. I have yet to use it in any other of my Wii U games but I do enjoy it thoroughly.
