I am a relatively new fan of Bob Marley's. My radio station plays a few of this songs and I wanted just a basic introduction to his stuff to expose me to him. It is a great CD that made me realize I know more of his music than I thought.
As always, Joe Bonamassa does NOT disappoint. I have this set on DVD as well and wanted the CD version to listen to in my car! Just as powerful, if not more so, in a car radio than my bedroom radio. Great cameo by EC on "Further on Up the Road." Blistering solos, great ZZ Top/Led Zeppelin tribute as well (both on "Just Got Paid"). All in all, a great set!
These characters were always my favorites in the Madagascar movie! Their sad attempts at being an elite special forces unit has never ceased to leave me in stitches in the past. The movie did not fail either. A co-worker bought it (upon seeing my Madagascar Penguin plush on my desk) and said she loved it. I found it at Best Buy while perusing random DVD's and had to get it. It far exceeded my expectations!
If you love the Madagascar Penguins, this movie is for you!
Saw this in the theater when it came out! It truly was an amazing film that explains why Denzel is such a popular actor and a great lead for an action movie! He, and Chloe Grace Moretz, star as two strong leads in this movie! I loved it so much I bought it when it came out on DVD!
I loved this movie. Watching it made me mad that Pierce Brosnan was forced out as James Bond (especially for Daniel Craig- bleh!). He clearly still has what it takes to lead a high octane action movie!
As my title says I love the covers of these classic McCartney songs! Even artists I haven't heard of before or don't care for much did some really great versions of Sir Paul's tunes. The highlights being Smokey Robinson's version of "So Bad" and Brian Wilson's version of "Wanderlust (both of these being familiar to anyone who has seen "Give My Regards to Broad Street")." Wings and Beatles fans should recognize 90% of these songs! I was also introduced to some Sir Paul songs by the wonderful versions on here (i.e. Alice Cooper's version of "Smile Away" and BB King's version of "On the Way"). All in all a great package of songs by some fantastic artists!
My only complaint was Billy Joel's version of "Maybe I'm Amazed (I'm a Billy Joel fan but hate when he does that gruff voice when singing cover songs- ruins the songs)" but his version of "Live and Let Die" was very good.
