Had to buy and install to upgrade from existing 2014 version which worked fine for us. I guess just another necessary business expense. We don't use or care about all of the new functions. Guess we will have to buy again in a few years when this version is "old".

The software is lacking

Don't have any problems with the hardware part of the scanner. The scans are as advertised. My problem is with the software. What should be a simple task of naming a document and picking a destination folder to save to is not simple. My office has used and still uses another brand scanner for years and it is easy to see the differences in the software.
