Great for extending water line.

I purchased this with my new fridge to use as an extension to my existing copper water line. During installation the delivery man indicated that the copper line had a slight leak and advised a plumber repair prior to hooking up to the fridge. The plumber decided to replace the copper line with a plastic line so I no longer required the stainless extension and I was able to return this for a full refund.

When the repair man told me my large 16 year old stainless steel fridge needed to be replaced I dreaded trying to find a cost effective and reliable comparable model. I was lucky to find this model on sale due to a couple small scratches and my family loves it. The space is amazing the ice maker works perfectly and we were able to ditch our separate water cooler as the filtered water on the fridge gives us delicious water. I did purchase the 5 yr extended warranty as I am told long gone are the days when appliances last 16 years. I did see in prior reviews that the fridge makes some loud noises, and until we had the water and ice hooked up there was a loud noise when the unit would call for water but it is went away as soon as the plumber hooked up the water line. We have had the fridge for about a month and a half now and so far so good.

Enjoy filtered water from this Whirlpool everydrop 4 EDR4RXD1 filter, which is compatible with a wide variety of refrigerators, including select Whirlpool and Maytag models. The filter reduces 23 contaminants for healthy drinking water.
where it is made in?slow down water flow, some charcoal particuals in water,loud sound of humming coming out of fridge,water leak from filter seal did any one experienced any of this problem with that filter
The water flow on this is the same as the flow I had on my stand alone water cooler so I would say the water flow is normal. I did not experience any charcoal particles in the water or ice but we ran and dumped about three gallons of water and three buckets of ice before consuming on the recommendation of the Best Buy delivery man. I have not seen any leak from the filter seal but again my filter was installed by the delivery man who also told me to make sure it is inserted properly when I replace. I have only owned this fridge for 1 1/2 months and have not experienced any problems but I did purchase the 5yr extended warranty just to be safe as I was replacing a large stainless steel fridge that we had for 16 years and my appliance repair man warned me not to spend too much on a new fridge as the newer ones are not made to last.
