This camera comes with the phone number for customer service and they encourage you to call them to set this up. Do it! They are terrific. Had me set up in no time. They made me aware of some issues my computer had. That's why I had trouble setting this up. After I reloaded windows on my computer both worked just fine. Abel to view this over the internet. Much better than another brand I bought. When I get some more I will buy this brand again. The other brand has lots of issues for me.

I love google tvs. I have 3 including this one. this is very compact, as many features as my expensive sony tv. Not limited to any brand tv. hooks up to any tv with hdmi plug. (not included). also has a slot for a usb dongle that you can access your files and videos from. If you're looking for a player for Hulu or Netflix you get the extra benefit of Chrome internet browser with this. (worth the $20-$30 bucks more that a roku style box). Pretty innovative controller, it uses both sides. Keyboard in one side and more traditional tv remote on the other. It's bogged down on me a couple times and takes a little recovery time, but a good value when you consider the price. Go get one!

Induction tops are supposed to be cool to the touch at all times.
Mostly it is. There is a small spot that stays warm for a shot period of time due to the hot pan reflecting some heat back to the glass. It cools down fast and I believe it's incapable of starting a fire or causing you to burn yourself.

Is this noisy? I have one unit (not the same brand) that has a pretty noisy fan that runs when it is on.
Yes the fan makes noise but I don't find it excessive. Wouldn't recommend if that would bother you. Guess I'm used to fan noise in cooking as on my stove I frequently use one to vent steam and greasy smells. So it doesn't bother me.

Could we use this instead of having a separate cable subscription at a cabin? Like using our home cable subscription at the cabin? Would we need a roku, apple tv or other for each tv at the cabin?
Yes and yes, but you would have to have INTERNET with WiFi or hardwired to the devices you mentioned at your cabin. You could use a smartphone with a huge data plan If you don't have internet there. (that's expensive unless you have unlimited data). One slingbox at home = one channel at your cabin. It's not like you can watch one program on your TV and the kids watch theirs on another. That in mind do you need a second roku if you all have to watch the same channel? If you don't want to hang out together or want to watch at different locations (bedroom?) any of the devices you mentioned would work. If you want to get different channels on the other tv you would have to have a second slingbox at home hooked up to a second cable box at home and a second slingbox account. Don't forget to leave your cable box(es) on when you leave home your slingbox mirrors what's on in that box. You don't have to leave your tv's on at home just the cable boxes. The slingbox 350 requires you connect via hardwired or have a wireless converter. You may want to consider an M1 slingbox (or two) if you need different channels as that one is wireless assuming you don't have access to cat 5 cable at both source cable boxes at home. Disclaimer I don't have two slingboxes at home just one, but know how they work so the part about two slingboxes isn't personally proven. Save your receipt in case you want to return one If that part doesn't work.

multiple tv's
Is it possible to hook up two TV's to one box?
I haven't tried this yet, but I'm thinking you might by channeling it through a slingbox. If you don't have a slingbox I'm thinking no. I've seen some videos on YouTube where you can view and share some Blu Ray boxes this way. I'm thinking sub the roku in place of the Blu Ray. Might be just cheaper to get a second unit though. My idea would require the second tv to be a smart tv or a computer hooked up to your second non smart tv. Sling box would let you view virtually anywhere you can get a WiFi signal. I use it to view my local tv when I stay at a hotel or at my camper up north or a spare tv at home that I don't have a cable box hooked to. Most people probably don't have all these items but I do so that's why I'm mentioning this. I'm guessing you want to go cheap so just buy a second one for the other tv.

Can I watch my shows somewhere other than home while someone at home watches something else?
If I am away from home can I still watch my tv channels or recorded shows if someone is at home watching something else? I have Direct TV.
It mirrors what's being watched so no. At least not with only one box.You would be able to watch what the other person is watching or they would have to watch what you're watching. A second DTV box on a different tv from the one they're watching would be needed.

Can I use this slingbox M1 with Charter Cable?
I have Charter Cable TV service. I used to use a Sling box SOLO a year or so ago before we moved and had to sign up with Charter TV because of the area we live now doesn't have Time Warner. My Sling Box Solo didn't connect anymore and I'm thinking of purchasing a different model. Which one should I get? and will it work with Charter?
I have a slingbox 350 and charter. it works great. 350 is hardwired old style, not wireless (wifi). It connects to the tv and cable box with 5 RCA type plugs. M1 is wireless. I would think it would work as long as both have hdmi ports or the five high def cables like the 350 has. Keep your receipt and return it if it doesn't work out.

Would I be able to stream to a Projector via Phone/Tablet/Laptop
If I hooked up the Slingbox to my Living Room Directv HD DVR, would I be able to stream through my cell phone/laptop/tablet to a projector in my backyard?
Possibly, is your laptop windows or Mac? If so It can. You would have to have hdmi or computer serial cable ports on both devices. Also it would have to be placed close enough to your WiFi for your computer to get a good signal. I sometimes get a poor service if the WiFi signal isn't strong enough. On a tablet or phone you would have to have a chrome cast dongle or roku box hooked up to your projector. Sling box charges an extra $15 each for the apps (phone and tablet) plus the cost of either appliance I mentioned. So it would cost you a minimum of an extra $30 plus the price of your slingbox plus the price of the dongle or roku box. Computer is free to use as long as it's a Windows or Mac.
