I don't understand the negative reviews. This album tops a lot of what Carlos has been recording of late. Getting the guys back together and finding that old groove makes this a remarkable CD. I like the raw studio jam of the band enjoying themselves. Santana is as cool as ever on the guitar, playing his signature sound and throwing down some experimental riffs.
I enjoy getting involved with a film, identifying with the characters. DiCaprio, Hardy and the other actors immerse you into the story of 1800s mountain man survival. It is a bit unrealistic (who could survive being that close to death in those conditions) but few people watch a movie for realism. I dug it. I will watch it many times over the years, as I do Jeremiah Johnson, A Man Called Horse, Unforgiven, Death Hunt, even Little Big Man, and many others of that genre.
I already have several LZ vinyl. I picked up all their studio CDs after the 1st remaster release about 3 yrs ago (I don't know who did the remastering). This time around Jimmy Page did an excellent job remastering these latest releases. Each instrument comes across better than ever. I listened to every CD (thanks to a friend who bought them as there were released). Most remixed songs on their respective albums are very similar. Casually listening, the differences are so subtle it's hard to hear any variation from the original. Knowing the songs and with a good sound system or headphones the differences are there and are pretty cool. After listening to the entire collection I bought Zeppelin III, Presence, and Coda. Presence is good, LZ III is great and Coda kicks A**.
Very nice CD. A little Beastie Boys and Sublime; all Slightly Stoopid. I dig band stickers and a guitar pick always comes in handy. CD comes with both. I did recommend this to a friend.
I love these guys. ZZ Top was my first concert in the early/mid '70s. They have a great hard edge of rockin' blues. Every album has at least two songs that i like to jam. However, not unlike other good bands there is such a thing as too much ZZ Top in one sitting. This is a good album for my collection. I recommend this CD to ZZ Top fans like me. Remember everything's better in moderation.
I was a little kid when I heard my sisters play each new Beatles album when they came out. As I grew up other groups Humble Pie, Zeppelin, Floyd, etc replaced The Beatles. Now I am able to revisit these musicians and besides the memories appreciate their talent. I like the remastered stereo versions as well as the original mono recordings. Just a few more CDs and I'll have the Beatles collection I want.
I wore out My LP, my cassette cooked in the car, and I've enjoyed my CD. This remastered CD- Beck's "Blow By Blow" brings back the full rich sound the vinyl has on a good system. Jeff Beck is a great musician. I can't wait for "Wired" to be remastered, among others. The price at Best Buy for this remastered masterpiece was unbeatable.
7 Psychopaths is a great escape movie. Very funny. I like Sam Rockwell in everything I've seen him in. He makes a great lunatic (The Green Mile, Box of Moonlight), and a great psychopath. Woody Harrelson does a good job as neurotic mobster. And of course Christopher Walken is way cool. I had fun watching it for the first time and enjoy watching it again with friends who haven't seen it before. .

What's great about it: Walken, Rockwell and Harrelson. A fun movie to watch.
What's not so great: It gets a little cheesy at times. I wanted more extras.
