Ok, finally broke down and spent the money on a good blender. picked up the BlendTec 560 which is their basic model. It is worth every penny I spent. Ice...what about it? Huge chunks of frozen fruit...bring it on! Worried about texture...baby, I'm as smooth as it comes.
Yeah, this blender is like $300, but it really is worth the money. Built like a tank, and straightforward to use. it can't get much better than that.

I like the look of the band, and will keep it around for more formal things. My big issue is the fact that you cannot feel the taptic engine nearly as much. Due to the links in the band absorbing the vibration.

It's not an Apple Watch, nor does it have the fit and styling that the Apple Watch has, but for $100 I wouldn't expect it to.
The Pebble itself still feels ok on the wrist, though the original is a bit plastic-y. The app store is filled with lots of similar apps, but there are some gems out there. I also found a couple websites that allow you to create your own watch faces which is pretty slick.
