This Blu-ray player is very nice. The picture quality is wonderful! The only thing I don't like about this one, as compared to our previous Sony Blu-ray player is that they took out 95 percent of the apps that they used to have. Crackle, Vudu, Hulu, Pandora, and many others are gone. Only Netflix is there.

Lol yes the base still plugs in. It just means that the actual handset is cordless.
