Decent tablet at a fair price

The Iconia One 10 is the latest in a series of budget priced Android tablets. It is entering an increasingly crowded market space targeted at entry level tablets.
The unpacking experience was good, everything was well protected and the contents include a charger, mini to standard sized USB cable and a plastic tripod for hands-free use of the tablet.
The initial power up, configuration and marathon upgrades session went well although much slower than I am used to. It feels like the processor is adequate but certainly could be peppier!
I had no problem connecting to WiFi and the complement of included apps is decent.
My wife has been the primary user of this unit and she has pronounced it very usable for Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram. It also seems to play YouTube videos adroitly although the screen resolution is somewhat modest. She also like the white color. Her overall evaluation? "Cute"....
I believe this would be a good option as a second tablet or possibly for the casual user or for your kids. I personally would opt for something with a higher resolution screen and better performance.

Beautiful to look at but a work in progress.

The first thing you will notice when you unpack the unit(s) is that this may be one of the most attractive APs on the market. Bucking the current trend of arachnid-like, alien-looking boxes sprouting multiple antenna like appendages, the ORBI is sleek and unassuming in appearance.
It took a firmware update and a couple of reboots to get the units up and running but after that the thing is pretty simple to administer. Echoing other's comments here I was surprised at the lack of a Public Network out of the box. Also, if you try to test connectivity with the base and satellite units sitting too close together you may discover that your client is continuously bouncing from unit to unit with brief but discernible drops in connectivity.
We work with enterprise grade wireless APs that do seamless roaming but these cost MUCH more that the ORBI.
In summary - the ORBI delivers on its promise to easily extend the reach of your WiFi in a much more elegant manner than other vendor's offerings and does it while looking GOOD!

So if it comes with two, I'm assuming you have one that internet is linked to by cable and the other is used as a extender? Or do you have to have both units hooked to cable?
Only the base unit needs to be connected to the Internet. The base and the satellite units connect wirelessly.

We live in the country, and can only use satellite internet. It is not a real strong signal, and can be affected easily by weather. We also have a log home, which blocks the signal in certain areas of the house and porch. Would this help in our situation?
The ORBI will not be able to help with your weak satellite signal. However it probably will help with reaching those areas of your home where you cannot currently receive a WiFi signal.
