A drama series following the firefighters, paramedics and rescue squad of Chicago Firehouse 51. In the first season, the group try to move on after a fire claims the life of a team member, and blame shifts between Lt. Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Lt. Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney). Meanwhile, young firefighter candidate Peter Mills (Charlie Barnett) joins the staff. Eamonn Walker, David Eigenberg, Lauren German, Monica Raymund and Teri Reeves also star.
What a fabulous show. How they managed to film the many fire and rescue scenes is simply beyond belief. Sorry I missed this when it first aired, but boy, am I catching up now!!
This release contains every episode from the debut season of Poldark, the BBC channel's adaptation of the historical novels by Winston Graham. Ross Poldark (Aiden Turner) returns to England from the American Revolutionary War to discover that his great love is betrothed and his village is on the brink of starvation.
I was a big fan of the PBS series Poldark starring Robin Ellis, so it was tough to see a whole new bunch of actors interpreting characters I had grown to know well, but it was enjoyable to rediscover my favorite plot lines. What's perhaps better about this new adaptation is the element of realism. I do hope the series continues; one season barely scratches the surface of the books, and there are so many more delicious twists and turns to come!
After World War Two, a British nurse and her husband embark on a second honeymoon. On a walk through an ancient ruin on the British Isles, she finds herself transported back to Scotland in the year 1743. Bewildered by her predicament, she is discovered and accused of espionage. Forced into a marriage to a rogue Highlander, she is tormented by their growing love and tries to make sense of being in love with two men from different centuries. This release contains every episode from season one of the series.
What a way to wind up the first season of this magnificent series. If you're not emotionally invested with these characters at the conclusion of this deeply disturbing finale then you just haven't got a soul!!!

What a fantastic adaptation of a fantastic series of books. I was spellbound from the first episode. The acting is superb, the locations are breathtaking, and the extra features are a wonderful bonus. Buy it, buy, it, BUY IT!!!!!
This release contains all episodes from season 17 of the long-running NBC drama series, which follows New York City detectives working in a specialized sex crimes division within the police department.
I've been a fan of all three Law and Order franchises for years, and Season 17 of SVU continues a tradition of strong casting and gripping story lines.
This release features the complete second season of the Starz historical, time traveling adventure series Outlander. Season two finds Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) in France attempting to quell the Jacobite uprising lead by Charles Edward Stuart (Andrew Gower). All 13 episodes from the series are included, as well as bonus behind the scenes content.
Where do I begin?? Phenomenal cast, incredible locations, sets, costumes..... It was wonderful to relive Season 2 while I wait impatiently for Season 3!! And the extra features were very enjoyable. If you've never read the books or seen the series, buy Seasons 1 and 2 and then sit back and enjoy the ride!
I missed seeing The Force Awakens when it was in the theaters, so I was very impatient for the DVD to be released so I could finally see what all the hyp was about. Anemic plot, main characters I couldn't care less about, scenes which were quite obviously simply rewrites of scenes from previous movies.... and the much-ballyhooed appearances of Han Solo, Leia and Luke? Well, I understand why Luke didn't show up until the end, but the interaction between Solo and Leia was anything but natural, and really when it comes right down to it, Leia didn't need to be a part of the story at all. I haven't watched the extras yet because really, I can't bring myself to care. As I said to a friend when I called after the movie was over... at least my dogs and I enjoyed the popcorn.
Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke star in the fifth season of the HBO fantasy drama series Game of Thrones, a show based on the A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels by George R.R. Martin and adapted for television by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. All ten episodes of Season Five are featured in this collection, as Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) joins the mysterious House of Black and White to become an assassin, Daenerys (Clarke) and Tyrion (Dinklage) join forces, Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer) continues her quest for power at the expense of Cersei (Headey), and the villainous Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) continues to leave a trail of terror.
This series just seems to get better and better. Unbelievable locations, terrific cast, interesting story lines and some absolutely shocking moments and unexpected plot twists. And some nice extra features on the DVDs.

Having enjoyed Downton Abbey ever since it began, I was eagerly awaiting the final chapters; there were so many loose ends to tie up... one night for fun I made a long list of questions concerning how various plot twists would wind up. I was pleasantly surprised to find that not all of them were dealt with as predictably as I thought they might be, and there were some genuine surprises. But I did feel that too much new material was thrown in too quickly with very little chance to develop anything, and so some of the endings could be seen a mile away. In general I think this was the weakest season, so I'm very glad the series is now over, before things really went downhill.

I came late to this movie; while everyone raved, I kind of let it pass me by. I finally bought the disc because it was offered at an amazingly low price and I figured I should finally see what everyone had raved about. I'm not sure what I expected....I wasn't bowled over, but it was very enjoyable, and I loved Helena Bonham Carter's portrayal (I've always been a fan of hers). Interesting to see the rather unorthodox methods that were used in the speech therapy!
