Don't call it a comeback - DD never left!

Paper Gods is incredible! For once, the boys are getting the credit they have been deserving of for over 30 years! I bought the Deluxe Version, and the Target only version. The Deluxe has 3 extra tracks ( all 3 are a welcome addition ) and the Target only has 2 extra, but not the 3 extras of the Deluxe. The title track starts out making you stop and wonder - Is this Duran? When the music kicks in, all worries go away. Several tracks to make you want to sing and dance like you did when you heard any Duran on the radio in '82-'84, "What are the Chances" will take you back to Ordinary World. This cd is made to be played loud and danced to! One of the tracks on the Target only edition - Cinderella Ride - is just made for Simons voice.
Something to note - There isn't as much weird little synth sounds from Nick on this album as there have been in the past ( like Arcadia ) and that's a GREAT thing! The keyboards are smooth and harken back to classic Nick Rhodes style of the Rio days. Some even sound like a Depeche Mode/Gary Numan/Duran mash - that is a compliment IMO.

One issue after another ( not all TV related )

So my wife turns to me and says some of the sweetest words ever. Let's go to Best Buy and get you your TV that you've been looking at for a few months! I break all the speed limits between here and there - my feet seemingly not touching the floor from the truck to the TV Dept! I take one last look at the 65" Samsung Curved vs the 65" Sony. I pick the Sony. They have none in stock. None within a 2 hour drive. I go home empty handed. So I decide that I will go for the 70" Sony 1080p. I call and they say they have 1 across town. So I drive 40 miles across Birmingham and get there and they can't find it. Again, I go home empty handed. A day later I'm talking with Dept head and store manager of store that told me they had the 70". This TV is my #3 choice and the 65" 4K Sony is my #1 choice ( was on sale for $2499 at the time, almost 1/2 price ). They tell me they just got back a 70" Sony UHD that was sent out and brought back because it would not fit in customers home. It's $500 over the amount I promised my wife I would spend - so they give it to me for the 65" sale price of $2499. I'm in Heaven! I take off back across town and get it. I get it home, wait for help to inbox it and get it set up. Fast forward to hooking it up and finally getting to look at it for the first time - on the left side about 3/4ths up the screen there are 3 DEEP scratches. At first I thought they were pieces of plastic, but it was actually more like a divot. The screen had been gouged by the installation team at the other buyers home.
So after all of this, I end up getting the 65" ( a new one! ) and driving to 2 different Best Buys 3 times for a total of 200 miles round trip.
So take it from me - sometimes an open box buy is awesome, and sometimes it's not. ALWAYS ask to inspect the item if it's an open box buy, but it's in a box where you can't see it.
So after all of this, I end up getting the 65" ( a new one! ) and driving to 2 different Best Buys 3 times for a total of 200 miles round trip.
So take it from me - sometimes an open box buy is awesome, and sometimes it's not. ALWAYS ask to inspect the item if it's an open box buy, but it's in a box where you can't see it.
I give my TV a 5 star, but I take back 1 for the 200 miles I had to travel to get it.

Best Buy had all of the Disney Infinity characters at 50% off and I had already grabbed The Hulk for his gift. When I phoned the wife to tell her how awesome I did, she sent me right back in to get another. Well, I like Capt. America, so the bday boy got The Hulk and Cap from the Allen kids!

Having this has enabled me to move my Klipsch sub 12" to the back corner of the room and keep it from cancelling out my right front speaker and evening out the low frequencies. And, putting it in the back corner also helps blast the sound off the walls.

If you're a fan of the LOTR movies and The Hobbit, then why would it not be excited about getting its dirty little handsess on the extended version of TDOS?? Getting Durins' key was awesome! I admit that hearing Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug made the little fanboy inside of me as giddy as a schoolgirl! Martin Freeman IS Bilbo Baggins.
I loved watching the extras as well - all of the Tolkein works done by PJ have such love put into them and you can see it in the movie and in the painstaking process of making the movies!

Capt. America may not be the strongest super hero, but he is THE Marvel Super Hero! The Russo bros have now made a statement and shown others how you make a good Marvel movie. The Winter Soldier just makes me even more jacked up for Capt America 3 and what the Russo bros will do with Avengers: Infinity War

Russell and Kilmer's best

I would say that if you're a man, then you have to own this movie. But, my wife likes it as much as I do. Kurt Russell chews up the scenery in every way possible - it's clear he is loving this role.
Val Kilmer. His Doc Holiday is a quote machine! He steals every frame of the movie he is in! His best role ever.
The rest of the cast is pretty much a 'who's who' of Hollywood, and even Wyatt Earp III is in the movie as a baddie Cowboy!
This movie still rocks 22 years later!

A 'must have' for 80's music lovers

Some say Rio is the best from Duran Duran. I can't say I agree or disagree! But, being a Duranie makes me unable to choose a best album.
Having the different versions that were put out in the original album depending on where you lived ( US, UK, Japan etc..) is great. The longer versions of Hold Back the Rain and Hungry Like the Wolf are certainly the better, and the remastering brings a nice crisp sound you can pick up on headphones or high end large speakers.
Do yourself a favor - get Rio and get ready to dance

The best camcorder for you really depends on several things.
Budget.
How and where it will be used.
All of the camcorders I've owned all seem to record in outside light about 10x better than in indoor lighting.
