The movie is a big spoiler itself

The bluray/dvd/digital combo is great, I really like the easy process to redeem with iTunes and streaming the movie (including Noir version and all the extras) at the same time owning a physical object has some nerdy comfort qualities.
Regarding the movie, there are black and white spots (not because of the Noir..): I've enjoyed the acting, we all love the main characters and the actors who portraits them, Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart. The cinematography is great, there's no excess of CGI and it feels like a different kind of superhero movie.
But... The main problem with this movie is that it's a big spoiler itself, we already know how it ends and every single act is easily predictable. I'm ok to watch a movie where we already know the destiny of the main characters, but we want to reach the predictable end in unpredictable and clever ways. I appreciate the effort of create a movie that is not the usual superhero garbage, if you are a fan of X-Men watch the movie, it's quite good but it's not worth the hype.

I've purchased this Bluray drive mostly to do backups of DVD and Bluray movies that I own. I've found that my original discs sometimes can fail, I've lost some of those moving from one place to another, formats and regions incompatibility, so a digital copy is actually more convenient and easier to be played on AppleTV. For this purpose the drive worked fine, faster than expected. It doesn't come with any kind of software and considering the price it should provide it, but I was able to get freeware/shareware apps for Mac OS that were up to the task. It would have been good to have some software like a Toast light version, at least to use the drive to burn some bluray backups.

This DVD/CD unit is extremely practical as it's small, usb powered and works fine. Do not expect a fast performance on reading because it's slow, like most internal optical drives found in notebooks, but it's the best option if you just use a dvd/cd not on regular basis, the price is around $25/30 and it'll do the same job of the $80 Apple Superdrive. If you plan to keep it on your desktop the look and feel of Apple drive is a lot better, but if you need it for a casual usage go with the cheaper LG.

Good movie. Bluray quality could be better

The movie is good and it fullfill the purpose of giving you 2 hours of entertainment transporting the viewers to some far galaxy.
I enjoyed it, but for moments I thought I was watching "Saving Private Ryan" especially the last big battle on that sort of beach looked more WW2 than Jedis and Skywalker, but if you're really interested about learning how the Rebels got the blueprint of the Death Star, this movie is a 100% must see. Even if there’s always a Death Star in SW movies, and that’s a lack of originality, I felt that this time it made sense. The main plot is great but there are too many planets and too many characters, it’s impossible to remember as we all remember after decades Tatooine, Alderaan or Dagobah.
The CGI characters looked too fake, like a videogame more than a movie, I’d not recommend to use them again in close shots between other actors, technology improves but we’re still too far and there are better options like using them in hologram transmissions or behind some video-conference system.
Of course Darth Vader presence is short but rewarding and extremely welcomed.
The bluray quality has some issues with dark scenes, sometimes it was too dark, but as I haven't seen the movie at the theaters, I have no idea if this is something related to the bluray or the movie itself, my TV is quite well calibrated. The dialogues are sometimes hard to follow because of the excesive dynamic range, but if you're reading my review before watching this movie please adjust both video and audio on your setup and you'll enjoy it better than me (I’ll probably do it the next time i watch this movie...).
