I have a laptop that does not have a VGA input, so I'm looking for an adapter to plug into my USB port that my VGA male end can connect into for my overhead at school. Will this work?

The device is not being recognized when I plug it into my USB 3.0, it only works with USB 2.0 and I am not getting the resolution I want. Am I missing something or do I need to update the driver for 3.0 ? if yes how? Thanks
