Why is this dryer kit needed?
I'm replacing a dryer and I received this kit. Because of this kit my new dryer is about 6 or more inches away from the wall. Is this kit required? Can I use a regular vent hose? Using a regular vent hose I could push my dryer further back to the wall matching the location of the washer.
I also replaced an existing dryer. I reused the existing vent. The pipe connection from my Maytag is a little shorter than the LG's so I had to buy a short externsion pipe and trim to fit. Very easy job with a tin snips.
