One of the greatest movies ever made, not JUST a MOB movie, simply said, a classic. The 4K looks great and is a great upgrade for this masterpiece by Scorsese. You will never go wrong buying this film and watching it over, and over. Each viewing offers new admiration for this brilliant film. I cannot recommend highly enough.
Ron Howard's drama is quite good. A top notch cast of actors do a fine job, and the amazing fire scenes, done before a lot of CGI was used are spectacular. I got a little tired of the off/on relationship between the brothers, but it's part of the film elements. See for the amazing fire scenes and the drama they present. Good film, but not one I can overly praise.
A good, if not great true life story with many powerful scenes, especially when shot at the death camps and truly given some weight. Tom Wilkinson and Timothy Spall are excellent. Rachel Weisz is good, but I think a different actress could have added more. It gets a bit talky and preachy at the end, but all in all a good film, but I was def hoping for a more emotional film especially considering the subject matter.
This collection features all four thrillers starring Anthony Perkins as the notorious Norman Bates -- including the iconic original directed by the Master of Suspense, Alfred Hitchcock. Featured here are Psycho, Psycho II, Psycho III, and Psycho IV: The Beginning.
Having a box set that includes Hitchcock's original classic, 1960's PSYCHO is a must. The others, are well, less, less and less. Psycho 2 is OK at best, 3 although having a few good black comic moments is really a dud, and Psycho 4 retelling the story from the beginning, doesn't really work. Is it worth buying, up to you. I LOVE the original, the others are watchable. So take it at that.if you are a fan pf these types of films, you could do worse.
I have enjoyed most of the series and this one falls right into that. I do think the ideas are getting old and we've seen so many car chases, it's almost getting tired. However, I have always liked Vin Diesel and the additional of Kurt Russell and others, makes for a nice, quite exciting, but silly popcorn type flick. You can certainly do worse that to buy this film. If you liked the others, you'll enjoy this.
I enjoyed this flick. Not as good as the Harry Potter series in general, but it had some great visuals and some exciting moments. Eddie Redmayne is a fine actor and he elevates what could have been silly, into something that, at times, reaches magical. I can imagine a sequel coming soon. Def recommended for those who enjoyed the Harry Potter series, however, I do not think it will achieve that level of success.
Multi Oscar nominated thriller from the British director Stephen Frears. Excellent performances by Cusack, Huston and Bening, warp up this tale of a group of con artists, their schemes and their victims. Def a movie to watch for the sheer joy the actors bring to their roles.
Marvin's Room is a well told, well acted story that suffers a bit from being almost a bit too "TV" style. A bit overly melodramatic, much of the story still rings true, with Leonardo DiCaprio always amazing. Def work a look, and a good film, but wish it had a bit more conviction to it's premise and less soap opera moments.
Steven Spielberg's amazing re-telling of the Munich massacre and it's aftermath is a powerful document of a part of history. Strong performances, along with intense action scenes, make for a powerful drama that rings true at every turn. A must see for any Spielberg fans or anyone interested in a look back at a dark time in our World. 5 stars.
David Fincher's adaptation of the novel, brings powerful performances, into a complex and detailed story of a marriage on the rocks. Def worth a look, showing great Oscar nominated work by Rosemund Pike and always steady work by Ben Affleck. A most see for any move fan.
