I purchased this TV for the bedroom to replace an aging plasma TV. Let's get this out in the open, for HD content, this is definitely on par with my old plasma. Bright, crisp, and blacks that are actually black.
SD content doesn't look quite a nice as a plasma, but honestly it's quite fine for DVDs.
At first I was a little hesitant with using the 120Hz mode but in fact it does make older shows look very nice and the 'soap opera' effect actually grows on you to the point that watching seasons of E.R. is a whole new joy.
For the tinkerers out there, the picture controls have the basic settings available for your tweaking pleasure and I was able to use my calibration DVD to calibrate the picture to my liking. You'll have to google search how to access any advanced color controls but technically they are available.
About the only negative on this TV is the same negative for any LED on the market: the sound quality is only ok. The volume is not a problem however as we typically watch it at a volume of 15 or lower (out of 60 I believe) and it's plenty loud for the bedroom.
Overall I am very pleased with this TV for our bedroom; an overall outstanding value.

can I use the remote that came with this TV instead of the HD cable remote?
To control the TV, yes. If the HD cable box supports CEC over HDMI (assuming you plug in the cable box into your TV using an HDMI cable), you might be able to control your cable box using the TV remote. If you don't know what CEC is, check out the explanation in the TV's manual, it is pretty neat.

How long is it warranted?
Mine just went on the @#%& and have only had it for 8 months.
According to the manual it is a 1 year warranty.

Object outlines
My TV is showing outlines around the objects on my screen, any idea how to get rid of them?
Try 2 different things:
1) Adjust the sharpness of the picture (either up or down from it's current setting) and see if that improves matters. You can find this option in the Picture Menu.
2) Adjust the Noise Reduction setting (in the Picture Menu -> Advanced Settings menu)

where is the power supply input located on the tv
If you are looking at the FRONT of the TV, it's on the back of the TV, right side, a few inches in from the bottom and right of the TV.
