The Wii U changed everything it needed to become a premiere gaming station. Don't listen to the nay-sayers about this platform. What it lacks in game quantity it makes up for in fun. You can relive your youth as you play Super Mario Bros., or Donkey Kong. You can introduce the next generation to Super Mario 3D and the plethora of Lego games. You can stream Hulu or Netflix and use the Wii Fit to have fun and work out. It's the cheapest gaming station but it provides the most fun for the whole family.

After 7 years I finally needed a new controller. I hate paying for one but I can't complain about the longevity of the product. But it does suck that I bought a PS4 but still needed a PS3 controller because the games are not transferable. Irregardless I love Sony so they can get away with the price of an out dated controller.
