Power when you need it !

This UPS is actually lighter and more compact than you would expect for a 900VA unit. The 5 foot power cord provides a little extra length than most power strips. The cord also has a flat plug, which is a nice bonus, as flat plugs take up less room, and holds tighter in outlets, than the traditional bulky straight plugs.Three out of the six back up outlets have block spacing, for those bulky sized plugs. There are 9 total outlets, 6 battery back up outlets (with uninterrupted power)  and 3 surge only outlets for unimportant devices that you don't want to drain the battery during an outage
Before your first battery usage, the UPS should be charged for 24hours straight, after that it only takes 8 hours to fully charge the batteries.
The batteries are hot swappable, which means you can replace them without having to interrupt your power supply to the connected devices. APC provides a 3 year warranty on this UPS, and $75,000 for connected equipment damages.
APC understands that you might have different uses for this UPS so it offers adjustable voltage for different power sources like utility wall currents or generator currents. There is even a separate LED that lights up red to indicate a problem with the connected power source, like an ungrounded connection.
LED and Audible status alarms can be set for your desired notification method. The UPS is by default set to silent mode, meaning that during an outage, it will rely on the LEDs to indicate the battery status, and will only sound 2 beeps 30 seconds before the battery gives out. The UPS can also be set to audio alerts , which is helpful if the UPS is hidden under a desk or behind other objects. To set the UPS to audio alerts, while the device is plugged in and on, hold the power button down until you hear 3 beeps. At the third beep, release the button, then press it again (do not hold it down) until the power button light turns to "amber".  Now the UPS will beep 4 times every 30 seconds until the battery is almost depleted (1 minute left), then it will beep once every four seconds.APC's website has a graph that shows the power runtime graph, which seems to be pretty accurate. I plugged a PS4 slim, 32" HDTV, and usb fan into the UPS, it was able to keep all these devices running for 30 minutes.
See the attached image of the graph, or visit APC's web page for this UPS, and enter the wattage using to estimate your back up run time.
This UPS definitely provides enough backup power for most all types of devices to finish your game, or PC jobs , save your data , and shut down properly.

Best handheld vacuum to date!
on August 1, 2020
Posted by: Aaronxx7
from central new york
Hoover advertises 2x more suction than their previous hand held model. While I never used the previous hoover model, I have used other "dust buster" and handheld vacuums, and this one actually has real suction. This cordless hand vacuum had no problem picking up anything in its path. It vacuumed up sand, leaving no trail and larger items like cereal and popcorn with ease. It was even able to suck up small stones and pebbles, from my car floor in seconds.
For my first use, I headed out straight to the car. I had been wanting to vacuum it for the past 2 weeks. I wasn't sure how long the battery would last, as I was just using the standard 2.0 Ah battery that came with the unit, so I took my time trying to get every part of the floor.
The dirt cup/reservoir looks kinda small, so I thought that might hold me back. It turns out that before the dirt cup was even halfway full, I noticed a loss in suction. A lot of the sand and tiny particles had clogged all the holes in the dirt cup filter, restricting the airflow. It was an easy enough fix to quickly empty the cup, and return to my vacuuming. I ended up emptying the cup twice, before the battery died on me. The second time, the cup filled up with more debris, as there was less sand to clover the holes. The vacuum ran for about 15 continuous minutes on a full charge. I was able to get 3 out of the 4 floor mats and carpet clean. Now that I know about how long it runs, the next time I will pace myself better to complete the task.
The cool thing about the Hoover OnePwr systems is that all the batteries and chargers will work with all of the hoover OnePwr devices. So I was thinking about buying the 3.0 Ah or 4.0 Ah batteries to increase my run time. The 3.0 Ah battery adds 50% more run time, and the 4.0 offers 2x the run time.It took just slightly over an hour to charge the 2.0 Ah battery with the default charger. It advertises charging in under 3.5hours, but it must depend on the size of the battery, the 3.5 hours must be for the largest capacity battery in their system.
The vacuum weighs less than 3lbs, and feels it. It is very easy to carry and move around. The 2 attachments that come with the vacuum work great, and the extender even has a dust brush tip that can be swiveled into position for use, or swiveled back to keep out of the way. To keep the weight low, the attachments have no storage mounts on the vacuum. I keep mine next to the charger, so I don't forget where I stored them.  The extender wand works great at focusing the suction, and giving you the added reach to get between tight places. My biggest complaint about the extender wand, is that there is no flexibility in the wand, it is very rigid. I actually had a hard time trying to angle the 27" long vacuum( with the extension wand), between and around some of the seats. I would love to see an extension wand that is a flexible hose, for tighter angles.
The design of the vacuum is very modern, and looks great. The handle is at a very comfortable angle and the overall feel is great. Although I do have one small complaint about the convenient power button location. It is actually too convenient, they have placed it on the actual handle making it easy to reach with your thumb. However, I found myself constantly turning the unit off, as I would reposition my thumb for a tighter grip or different angle against the rug. I would love to see that moved up further, so it is just slightly out of reach, while holding the handle.
One of the big bonus features about the unit, is that it has a Hepa capture rating of 99.97%. This is great, as it keeps all the dust and sandy particles from being pushed back into the air around you, as you are working. Both of the filters can be brushed off, and or cleaned with water. Keep in mind, you should wait 24 hours before use, to prevent water damage inside the unit.
Lastly, I would like to mention the sound output of the device. It is a little high pitched. It sounds very similar to a larger Hoover vacuum if you had shrunken it. It reminded me of the cartoons where someone gets shrunk, and their voice gets squeakier yet softer at the same time. The sound is definitely not as loud as a full size vacuum, so if you can handle that, you can definitely handle this.
Even with a few complaints, I still think this is an outstanding hand vac! I have literally been waiting years to get something of this caliber in a mini vac!The performance definitely outweighs the negatives!

great directional audio, in a portable design
on July 31, 2020
Posted by: Aaronxx7
from central new york
For a headset that doesn't have Dolby Surround, the audio directions are very pronounced. I will be honest when I first opened the package, I thought "this is too small to actually benefit my games", but I am glad to say that my first thought was wrong.
This tiny headset really packs a punch! The audio is rich, with clear and precise sounds, the bass is even good enough that explosions and music carry the depth you would expect from a larger headset.
For the price and portability, these little babies have not let me down! They are wireless, which means that they can sync up to any open Bluetooth devices, like your phone( Android, Apple, or other ), stereo, or computers (Windows,Apple, Chromebooks, and others). The only thing they can NOT sync up to wirelessly is video game consoles. I know, some of you are thinking, well how can this be? " they are made for gaming, and advertise wireless". Well, here is the kicker, any veteran video gamer will know that the last generation of video game consoles (ie., Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch ) do use Bluetooth technology, but have locked out any type of third party devices from accessing it. Which means if you are gaming on a console and want actual wireless benefits, you have to use their brand of available devices, or you get a third party device that has its own USB transmitter/receiver that you would have to plug into an open USB port on your system. ( This is currently the only work around to using wireless 3rd party devices.)With all that said, this headset does not come with an USB adapter. Which is OK in my book, because most consoles only have 2 USB ports, and I am usually using both of them for charging controllers and utilizing external hard drives.Jlabs included a 3.5mm auxiliary cable in the box that will directly connect you to your console's controller. So you will have wireless freedom from the console itself, but a wired connection to your controller.  You are still free to move about the room, or wherever you want to, as long as you still have the controller with you. The aux cable has a built it volume control, which overrides the volume buttons on the earphone. However to mute yourself, you still need to use the big button on the outside of the earphone.
When using the Bluetooth feature, the battery can last up to 22 hours. After my first hour of use, the headset still said the battery was at 100 percent. If you do manage to deplete the battery, the headset does have a rapid charge feature. Ten minutes of charge will get you an hour of play. The volume and power buttons on the headset also double to answer calls, skip and pause music, however these button features are not available when using the aux cable, only in active bluetooth mode. Probably because connecting the aux cable turns off the battery features, and just utilizes the speaker and mic. Enabling you to be able to game or listen to music through the aux cable indefinitely.  The headset has 2 EQ presets "1" for gaming and "2" for music, however this option is only available in Bluetooth mode, otherwise the EQ is defaulted for gaming.
When using the wireless feature for gaming the latency is 60ms, and has no latency through the wired connection. Latency is the delay between devices. Most wireless audio devices are somewhere around 100ms in latency. Even at 100ms, most people can not notice the delay, I mean we are talking about milliseconds here anyway, not actual seconds. In latency the smaller number is better, and the Jlabs Play is almost half of what most devices offer. (pretty impressive)
The mic works well for calls, and in-game chat. While the mic can still pick up audio in it's stowed position, you really need to extend it for people to hear you well. The mute button is large enough to find in a hurry and easy to press. The button actually stays depressed in, when the mute is active, so it's easy to feel whether you have the mute on or off.
There are only 2 things I can say this headset is lacking. The 1st is a charging block/plug, the device comes with a charging cable but not a power plug, so you will have to use your spare phone charging USB port. This does not bother me too much, because I have tons of spare chargers, and they all use the same 5 watt outputs, just like the USB ports on your computer. The only difference between USB chargers is the amperage. Chargers with higher amperes will charge devices faster. Second is there is no game vs chat slider or toggle. This feature is usually only available on more expensive models, so I wasn't really expecting it to be included at this price point. A game vs chat mixer/slider/toggle makes it possible to adjust the volume of the chat at a different level than the game (which helps out, if you have a buddy that either talks too quiet or screams too much) .However most consoles, systems and games, actually include this feature into their settings. So it's still possible to do it, just not directly on the headset.
This little headset offers so much, it's silly to dwell on things it can't do, because of console manufacturers or higher expenses.  For the price and portability this headset is top notch. I have used a lot of other inexpensive headsets, and none of them offer the spatial awareness and sound impact that this headset does. Plus this offers a 2 year warranty!

works great for soups and drinks!
on July 10, 2020

This cordless blender is pretty much the same size as most hand held blenders, but has the bonus of being cordless! Making it much easier to just pick it up and go. The rechargeable internal battery does add some weight to the unit, but nothing too bad. It is very easy to use, there are two buttons on the handle that need to be pressed for it to start. One is pressed in the palm of your hand, and the other by your forefinger. The battery has enough juice for approximately 25 uses, with the recommended pulses per item. I used mine all day, with various applications, and it made it through everything. When the unit is starting to get drained of power, the small led on the handle turns to yellow, then red right before it's about to shut down. There is also a noticeable power reduction in the force of the blender.
Luckily, there is a quick charge, in about 20 minutes you can have enough battery juice for at least 1 use. Otherwise it takes 2 hours for a full charge.
The trigger on the unit is actually pressure sensitive, so with the right control you can vary the blending speeds, giving you more flexibility when trying to blend different items.
The blender works well at chopping up or shredding different types of dry food items, but really excels with any item in a liquid. The motor is so powerful that it creates a strong whirlpool, and pulls the blade to the bottom of the glass. The blade housing is a perfect design, with open slats around the outside edge, letting chopped items push out, away from the blades, for better use. For using the blender in pots with sensitive finishes, there is a rubber guard that can be placed on the bottom of the blade housing to prevent scratches.
I made some soups, and a few different drinks. I am including some pictures. I pretty much used the blender at full power for all of my projects. I found that it will easily puree fruits and typical drink items, and finely shred hard vegetables and meats. I like soups that actually have some consistency, instead of just water for broth. I threw most of my ingredients into the soup pan, and then let the blender do the rest of the work. It worked great for turning the water into a thick broth, full of flavor. At this point you could manually add some different sliced meats or vegetables for the chunky soup experience, or keep it as is which is great for on the go cups, or mugs !
Overall I think this is a great blender, and is very handy for anyone that loves soups, whole fruit juices, shakes, or icee drinks. Not to mention that this handle works with the optional chopper and whisk attachments.

Impressive print/scan/copy/and fax
on July 2, 2020
Posted by: Aaronxx7
from central new york
This new edition to the deskjet lineup is very impressive. It offers all the functionality of a larger all in one office model, but in a smaller much lighter unit. The design is focused on size, weight and functionality, trying to squeeze as many options into a standard size printer. The automatic document feeder can hold up to 35 sheets at various sizes up to 8.5" wide. The paper tray can hold up to 60 standard pieces of paper and different sized media from 3"x5" to 8.5"x14", including envelopes, photo papers, and cards. The copy features can be accessed directly from the control panel at the front, right of the printer. There is a color copy button and a grayscale copy button. Both buttons work in the same way, just press either button once to scan and copy your image or document. For additional copies, keep pressing the button up to 9 times. Directly from the printer, you can do additional copies up to 9 at a time, but from the pc or mobile app, you can enter any number needed. The default copy resolution is 300dpi (which should be very sufficient for most purposes).
The control panel LCD shows the ink status, number of copies, wireless connected icon, and mobile/remote printing icon. You can cancel or resume any print job from the 2 left-most buttons on the panel.
All other features and options are available through the apps. Here you can fax any image or document anywhere, scan items to pc or mobile,  use smart tasks, or start creativity projects. Smart tasks can help you create one-touch shortcuts for printing, emailing, and saving documents with custom options.
HP is giving customers 2 years of their faxing services for free with the purchase of this printer. Sending faxes from your pc or phone is very easy, and can be done over the internet as opposed to a LAN line.
HP is also offering 2 free months of their ink replacement program with this printer , and has programs starting as low as $2.99 per month. When you register your printer for the program you also enable the remote printing option. After which you can send any image or document to your printer's direct email address( provided by HP ),  from anywhere outside your house. When you return home, you can retrieve your printed items.
The printer handles scanning and printing of documents very well, offering color prints up to 4800x1200dpi. I scanned a magazine cover and a stock photo frame insert, then printed them from the printer without adjusting the scan or print settings. I was extremely impressed with how good each print came out. In both photos the item to the left is the original, and the print is on the right. The only negative thing I can say about the photo printing is that there is no borderless print option, otherwise the color and quality seem to be just as good as a dedicated photo-printer.
Overall this printer is fun to use, with great features and impressive results. The HP 4155 prints and scans at a fast rate with exceptional quality. One of my favorite features, which is available through the mobile app, is the ability to resize any image and position it anywhere on the print layout. I have paid for other apps, that attempt to do this, but don't work over half the time. With the HP Smart mobile app, it has been very easy and very reliable!

small design, big sounds
on June 13, 2020
Posted by: Aaronxx7
from central new york
Surprisingly, this speaker is only a little taller than a 16oz can of your favorite energy drink, and slightly wider. It should definitely fit in your car's cup holders, or any lounge chair's cup holders as well.
The speaker comes attached with a cord that can be easily wrapped around any bar, cord, or rope that is less than 1.5" in diameter, if you prefer to place the speaker somewhere higher.

The small portable design hasn't stopped this speaker from putting out a big performance. The speaker gets so loud, that I personally haven't wanted to crank it up past 85% max volume, because
my ears start to hurt at that level. The mids and highs come through very clearly, The bass can be heard with the normal setting, but sounds much better after installing the Sony Music Center app to your phone, to take advantage of the extra bass feature, and EQ settings. The SRS-XB23 has a bass speaker at each end of the device. You can feel the vibration and air movement when placing your hand near either end of the speaker. With that said, keep in mind that this is a small portable speaker, and It does put out a sound that seems like it is coming from a larger device, but do not expect the bass to shake your windows or floor boards. For the size and portability it puts out a great sound, very clear audio with adequate bass to enjoy any kind of music.
The hands free call feature works great as well, I could not believe how clear the call was, it was way better than trying to use the speakerphone feature on my phone, or even the bluetooth hands free in my car. I often find myself close to maxing out the audio in my car to hear every word the caller is saying. But that is not the case with this Sony speaker. I could hear every syllable loud and clear at a normal volume setting, plus the caller couldn't tell the difference between the sound of my voice, going through the phone mic, or the speaker's mic.( that was nice and clear as well)
As with most of Sony's speakers, this comes with "Party Connect", where you can link up to 100 speakers wirelessly, for one awesome party. It is actually pretty easy to use, all you have to do is press the "party" button on the main speaker, and then the "party" button on the next speaker to connect, and that's it. (although each new connection needs to be done in less than 1 minute).
This speaker also has an "ST Pair" button, which is kinda similar to the party mode, except this feature only pairs two speakers together to create a Stereo sound system, so that left and right audio effects can be heard as intended.
The other impressive feature of this speaker is that it is extremely durable. I dropped it from waist level onto a hardwood floor, with no effect to the speaker. It is advertised to be able to handle common accidents from everyday use. ( So far so good ) . The speaker is also rated IP67 for waterproof accidents too. The enclosed design also ensures dustproof, and even rustproof operation as well. Which means that it should be a breeze to clean, and even more impressive, is being able to use this speaker at the ocean beaches, or on a boat, without worrying about the salt air ruining your speaker. This really is a portable speaker you can take anywhere, without worry,.. oops, it fell in the mud,.. oops it got buried in the sand,... oops, high tide came in,.., oops, it fell in the water... all no problem with the SRS-XB23 ! I can't wait to take this on my next fishing trip, especially with the long battery life (10 to 12 hours). We can stay out all day with this speaker!
Overall, I am very impressed with the sound quality produced by such a portable speaker, and relieved to know I will not have to waste time worrying about anything happening to my speaker while trying to have fun.

Strong, Convenient, electronic lock !
on May 8, 2020
Posted by: Aaronxx7
from central new york
Looks wise this is a little bulky, but functionally the size is appropriate. It is designed to fit inside your hand, and turn with little effort. Which is exactly what this does. Rotating the dial to lock or unlock your door is very easy. The outer ring of the lock is grooved for extra grip. The handle feels very sturdy, and of quality construction. The magnetic cover, that houses the batteries, holds it's place so well, you will forget that it even comes off. Manual use of this lock, from the dial to the key, works perfectly.
For aesthetic purposes it would also be nice if the device came in more colors besides just silver and black. Our current handles were kind of a brushed nickel, so the silver is a decent enough match.
Installation was actually just as easy as they said. There are a few instructions inside the box to help you out,but there are actual videos and more detailed instructions inside the August Smart Lock app. It takes you through everything step by step. Installation can take about 5 to 10 minutes, depending on your method. They give you a few options. It was very easy to remove the inside half of my current deadbolt, make sure you tape the other half to the door with the included tape, so it stays up while you are working. The next step is to place the mounting plate onto the open hole in the door. (there are 2 plates inside the box.The larger diameter plate is only used if you have a large hole in your door, and the mounting plate is too small to cover it.) After this, all you have to do is match up the correct included adapter with your cylinder locking tab/pin.The smart lock goes right into place, and then locks there with two side levers. (easy as pie)The next step can be slightly more laborious. If you want the app to know if your door is open or closed, you must install the door sensor. This can be done quickly if the edge of your closed door, butts up to a flat wall. You can simply screw it to the wall , lined up next to the Smart Lock. If your wall doesn't have room for an extra obtrusion, than you can drill a small 5/8ths size hole into the door jam, and place the sensor there. It is well hidden, and out of the way with this method.
Setting up the app is just as easy as the lock installation. Once you have registered your lock, and paired it to your phone, comes the fun part. Here you can give access to other family members and friends, or anyone you want to have access to your home. Each individual needs to register also, but it will be under your lock profile. Once that is done, the app keeps a log of the times and whomever locks or unlocks the door electronically. You can even set up guest access to the lock. The cool thing here is that once you are connected to the Smart Lock, you can lock, unlock or see if your door is open from anywhere you have data, on your phone. You could be at the store, and forgot your friend was stopping over to borrow something. Instead of having them waiting around for you to get home, you can simply unlock the door for them from the store, and then lock it after they have left. It is really very convenient. For more convenience, you can pair your lock with your favorite assistant, like Alexa , Google , and Siri. Here you can verbally lock and unlock your door, for guests or whatever. I paired mine with Alexa, I had to set up a verbal code through the app, to give Alexa permission to access the lock, so far I only had to use the code once. Using the lock through the August app and Alexa has worked out great. The August app also has a cool feature for auto unlocking and auto locking. The app can tell when you are home and unlocks the door for you. This is extremely helpful when you have your hands full, and you are trying to get in the house. Keep in mind this feature runs off the accuracy of your GPS on your phone. It is supposed to lock your door, once you leave your neighborhood (about 200m), and unlock your door when you are within a couple feet from it. So if you live in an apartment complex, or other tight living areas, this might not be suitable for you. The auto unlock and lock feature is optional, and is turned off by default.
So far this Smart Lock has been great, I no longer need to hide keys outside, because my oldest son either forgets to take his house key with him, or loses it somewhere(SMH). The whole key thing with him has always been a crazy situation. Now August has saved us all from the headache with their new Smart Lock!I absolutely love the functionality of the lock, and the fact that I can look through my logs to see when that sneaky kid got home last night, lol !!

A blender that mixes dough!!!!

There are so many good things to say about this kitchen system, that we will just get the one bad thing out of the way first. This unit works great and is very powerful at what it does, but it is also kind of loud. There it is, the only drawback to such a wonderful device. It's a little loud when using it for longer periods of time, like mixing dough, or making a lot of drinks. But it is understandable with the 1400 watt motor, and size of the machine. The base really does not take up much room. It is large enough to provide ample support for whatever purpose you are utilizing, ie. mixing, extracting, chopping, or blending. The base design is pretty smart with it's little suction cup feet, that prevent movement, and enhance stability.  The face and buttons of the base are all smooth, for easy wipe down cleaning. The base also has no sharp or metal pieces at the top, where the pitcher is placed, so there are no worries that one of your kids will accidentally cut themselves on an open blade.  (if they happen to have access to your counter) ((The blades inside the pitchers are still sharp and should be stored with caution around homes with children.))The pitchers and "to go" cups load very quick and easy into the base. The "to go" cups actually just drop into the base, no turning or anything, and can be quickly used, and removed just as easy. Swapping the blender lid for the drink lid takes seconds. The whole process is very quick and seamless. The mixing and chopping pitchers drop on, and twist into a locking position, with no fuss. Both pitchers have easy locking lids with release buttons, and rubber seals to prevent spills. The mixing pitcher has an easy pour spout that clicks down, and also has its own rubber seal, keeping the whole lid spill proof. The chopping pitcher/bowl lid has an additional small clear cover that pops open, to add extra liquids during mixing. Ninja has really gone out of their way to add as many conveniences as possible to this system. Both pitchers include measurement lines for oz's, cups, ml's, and liters. Removing, cleaning and swapping out the mixing blades and chopping blades is a breeze, everything just pops in and out without any effort. The blade assemblies hold together rather well. The blades are hollowed on the bottom half with the interlocking design of the post inside the bottom of the pitcher. The blades are also heavy enough to keep them in place during use.

The systems Auto-IQ features include 5 pre-programmed buttons; smoothie, ice crusher, extract, chop, and dough. These are timed out with the correct amount of power, speed, and pulsing to mix or blend the ingredients. The pauses in-between, give the ingredients time to settle, for a more even and consistent result. So far the Auto-IQ results have been pretty good. The system also can tell the difference between the blender pitcher, and the food processor bowl ( mixing pitcher). So, only the Auto-IQ buttons associated with that pitcher will be lit up, and be able to use.The unit does have buttons for manual uses as well; low, med, high and pulse. For those good enough to eyeball the process and results.
Mixing dough was surprising easy. I was able to just throw all the ingredients in to the mixer bowl/pitcher. ( it is important to put the "dough blade" into the pitcher, before the ingredients). We actually have one of the major brand mixing bowls as well. However, using the Ninja kitchen system has proven to be quicker, and more thorough than the professional mixing bowl. The two machines mix the dough in a different manner, which is actually Ninja's strong point. The dough blade is able to break down ingredients and keep them in circulation during the mixing process. The professional mixing bowl, spins a beater blade inside the bowl, at a fixed position. The problem with the professional mixing bowl is that you have to keep scraping the edges of the bowl to re-introduce the ingredients back into the mixing portion. You also have to break down a lot of the ingredients before putting them into the professional mixing bowl, taking more time. The Ninja lets me drop everything in, without wasting time breaking down ingredients. The Ninja also doesn't make me stop during the mixing process to scrap the sides, because it's blade brings the ingredients in. It is very quick and actually more efficient than other mixing bowls. Comparing the features, results and prices, I would much rather buy the Ninja Kitchen System over just a professional mixing bowl any day now.
The chopping feature works pretty well. We tried it making salsa, and chopping up nuts. The Salsa came out pretty good, with nice size chunks, none of the parts came out pureed( which is great!). However, we did have a few larger chunk pieces in the mix that hardly got cut. It was only a few pieces, and probably because we didn't have much liquid in the mix. So, I poured everything back into the mixing pitcher, and hit the manual pulse button twice (problem solved).Honestly I would rather have to do that, or just take a knife and cut the few extra pieces down rather than have a pureed salsa. I was very impressed with the overall results. Chopping nuts was pretty easy, and resulted in perfect sized cuts. The Auto-IQ is working pretty good.
The extractor and general blending features work great. I love how tall the blade assembly is in the blending pitcher. The height of the blade is actually what makes it so effective, as well as the extra strong and sharp blades. Everything gets mixed smoothly and evenly, everytime. The height of the blade pulls everything in at all levels of the pitcher, not just the bottom - like most blenders. The extractor feature really is a plus, as the blades are strong enough to break down seeds and otherwise unused portions of some foods. Using whole foods is a way to get tons of extra nutrients we normally miss. Plus vitamins and minerals are absorbed at much higher rates when they come directly from foods. Using pills to get your vitamins and minerals is kind of a gamble. The absorption rates on pill vitamins and minerals can be anywhere from 30% to 90% based on a ton of different variables. To skip the guessing game and live healthier, it's much easier to extract your own.
The Ninja Kitchen System is a great device offering so many features in one product. Overall, I am very impressed with the ease of use, cleaning , and results!

Works great, and not too loud !!

The setup was actually rather easy. It took about 10 minutes without rushing to get it into the window, following the directions. Everything was actually pretty easy. The most difficult part of the whole instal was trying to peel the backing off of the insulation strips, before sticking them to the window frame. Even though it was a pain to peel off the backing,I was very grateful to have everything I needed right out of the box for a complete installation. In the past I would always buy insulation strips, or putty, to help create a better seal around the window.
This AC unit works very well. It didn't take long after installation to cool the room. All I had to do is set my desired temperature, the rest was automatic. The fan would rise to a higher speed, and cooling mode would engage. After the temperature was met the fan dropped down, and the unit would shut off if the temperature remained stable for long enough. Once the temperature changed by enough degrees, the unit would turn back on automatically, and adjust to meet the desired temp again. The "eco" and auto modes are great at trying to keep your energy consumption down, and still be comfortable.
This has a quieter operation than models I have had in the past even during cooling mode, it is not much louder than just the fan mode, which is very nice, because my older AC's used to sound like a plane taking off, and rattle the whole window. This unit doesn't even have a noticeable vibration.
The WIFI setup requires a password on a sticker , located on the right side of the unit. Make sure you write down, or take a quick snapshot of the password, before installation, if you are putting it into a cramped location.
You will have to download and run the app to connect. It will direct you on connecting the WIFI, and registering a profile online.
The app is actually pretty nice and works well, even though it has a low star rating. It is the "Comfort - Ge Appliances" app. There are several different "GE appliances" apps, but the comfort is the one for window AC's. With the app, you can turn on or turn off your AC from anywhere that you have data on your phone.
"Routines" can even be created based on your phones location, by leaving and returning home, or by creating an actual scheduled power cycle for each day of the week.
The app even has a read out for power consumption for the day, as well as logged power for the month.
The included remote is kinda small and low profile as not to take up too much space wherever you will keep it,but because of it's size, I can see it falling into a couch cushion or something pretty easy. The remote works by infrared, so it must have a direct line of site to the AC unit, for it to work. I was using the remote from 20 feet away, and it worked with no issues. The buttons on the remote are also in braille, for the vision impaired.
This unit comes with a "filter" indicator, which reminds you to clean out the air filter every 250 hours of operation.Which is pretty nice, because I would forget on occasion, to check that.
There is a "Sleep" mode that can be triggered only by pressing the "sleep" button on the front of the machine. This feature can not be used in the "ECO" mode, or when the fan setting is already turned to "low".The sleep feature runs on an 8 hour cycle, in which it drops the fan to low, and then stays at that setting forthe next 8 hours. If selected from the cooling mode, it will raise the desired temp 2 degrees, after 30minutes and then another 2 degrees in the next 30 minutes, where it will remain for the duration of the next 7 hours.Once the 8 hours have passed all original setting will be returned automatically. However, if you don't want your AC unit to run all night, there is a delay mode, where you can set the unit to automatically turn off anywhere within the next 24 hours. This delay mode can also be used to power on the device within the same parameters.
Overall this Smart AC unit works great and has a lot of convenient features. The only feature I would of liked to have had was an automatic rotating wind deflector, but I'm sure that would have raised the price point too high. So I will be happy with the self adjustable deflector it comes with. ( The manual deflector can be angled into 4 different directions. )

Good, for what it is !!!!!

This armband radio is a great through back to the yesteryear of the '80s.It comes with much of the same features of the original armband radios.Bulkiness and cool styles included. Memorex definitely captured the nostalgic look and feel of the older technology. With that said:
The ear plugs are very comfortable, and hold their place actually very well while moving around or working out. They do come with a couple different sized ear cups to accommodate everyone. The ear bud cable is flat to help reduce tangles, and long enough to either attach to your arm, or belt buckle. There is no bluetooth to keep with the theme, so corded earbuds or speakers only.I hooked it up to a spare speaker I had with a 3.5mm cable, and it worked fine.
I like the fact that you can have 20 station presets, and that the device has a clock, and alarm feature. The buttons actually require a little bit of effort to press in, probably to help prevent accidental presses while being used, but it even has a lock feature to further prevent this. The IPX4 sweat resistant protection is a nice bonus.
The display is just LCD, with no backlight, it is pretty easy to read outdoors, but will require a bright overhead light, or flashlight to see well indoors.
The radio reception is pretty decent, I was able to pick up all the channels I normally listen too. However, I did notice some fade while moving around, but only on the weaker stations. The big stations came in clear pretty much all the time.
Now onto the sound. Keep in mind that for the low price point, I was not expecting Dolby effects. The audio is actually pretty loud. The volume is controlled by the side buttons, and maxes out at level 15. Anything above level 4 was too loud for my ears. You could actually leave the buds hanging around your neck and still be able to hear everything, on higher levels. The audio is pretty clear for music and talk shows. The unit does come with a bass boost, but to be honest it was not a huge difference. There is also no EQ, so the aside from the bass boost the sound is not adjustable. The overall sound quality is decent, for an inexpensive device. If you are looking for state of the art audio emersion,Memorex has a lot of other choices. There are no alternative inputs, also keeping with the theme, so don't expect to load a memory card to listen to your own playlists. This is all retro, and really brings back the look and sound of what I remember.
