To replace failed TV

For a monitor this thing is great. For a TV, it is so-so but only as much because of the odd way that the configurations and options are presented to the user.
While the little joystick on the back is a novel idea, it is also awkward to use. Usable, just a little getting used to. I guess they wanted to provide as much control that you would have with the real remote in case you ever lost it.

Backing up process
Does it automatically back up your work which slows the PC down as you work or can you set it up to back up when you are finished on the PC?
PC - It is possible to setup the backup times via your computer as such you are in control of the back times. This is due to use of the network drive as the backup location.
MAC - using Time Machine I would presume to be the same but do not use myself.
