Norelco continues to impress

I have been using Norelco products since I’ve been old enough to shave, beginning with rotary razors and now trimmers. The Norelco 7400 trimmer kit is no exception to the quality and craftsmanship of the Norelco brand.
First, the trimmer charges fairly quickly and the charge lasts for multiple trimmings. The blades are sharp and the motor is powerful enough even without the turbo speed to not pull or tear the hair from my face.
My favorite part of this trimmer is the guards. They do not have the long extensions on the ends so for beard and moustache trimming, it is much easier than other brands where the guards have the longer triangular legs on them.
The shaver attachment is great for a quick clean up but not something I would use for a full-face shave.
The 7400 is able to be used in the shower but other than having a damp goatee, I personally don’t care for an electric shaver in the shower, although, it would make clean up from the trimmings a little easier.
The only thing that that bothered me with this trimmer is the direction the blade is. Compared to my previous trimmers, the blade is 180 degrees turned so it took a few times to get used to holding the trimmer differently but the end result was as expected from the brand and I will continue to use Norelco.

Using the Linksys MaxStream RE7000-AC1900 really is as simple as one two three. Push the WPS button on your router, push the WPS button on the extender and wait for the light to turn green. If you have dual band, repeat the process to link the 5 GHz band if your router supports it. Unplug the extender and move it to where you need a little extra signal and you’re set.
The initial setup configures a duplicate of your router SSID with an ext on the end and the same password. You have the option to use this one or you can log into the extender and change the SSID to match your existing setup. I chose to keep the ext to differentiate. If you are pairing this with one of the new Linksys MaxStream routers, you have the ability to use their “seamless roaming” which allows the signal to pass from router to extender and additional extenders if your location is especially large.
If you are looking for something to boost your wifi signal, it doesn’t get any easier or better than this.

The first thing that stood out to me when opening the package was the weight of the box. This is a 10.1-inch tablet so I expected it to have a little heft but this took me by surprise. When I removed the Acer Iconia One from the box, the first thing I noticed was the feel of the back of the tablet. This is an inexpensive tablet but the feel of the plastic case is smooth and silky. I was impressed it shipped with a screen protector already installed, all you had to do was remove the top protective layer.
Unlike an iPad, the Acer Iconia One is designed to be held in landscape rather than portrait. although the screen does rotate when you flip it, the camera on the back protrudes a little bit and is exactly where your hand sits when holding it.
Already having a google account and another android tablet, setup was a breeze. After logging in, my previous programs were installed from my backup.

The display seems bright and colorful but it's 1200x800 resolution is a bit of a disappointment compared to other tablets with 1920x1080 or higher or iPad products with “retina” displays. It's not so much a problem for graphics but text on some web pages like Facebook seem a little blurry.
There are two small speakers on each side of the display when held in landscape. The sound from the tablet has ok volume but sounds very tinny and base rumbles and cracks. Headphones are definitely preferred over the built in speakers. The tablet also is good for pairing to Bluetooth speakers for playing audio like Pandora.
This model has 32GB storage so there is plenty of room to store your music or videos.
Acer pre-installs it's own software programs that may appeal to some. There is a multi-tasking program that lets you split the screen and run two applications at the same time. This is great in theory and does work with most google apps, like calendar and chrome.
This leads to probably the biggest negative. The Acer Iconia tab only has 1GB ram. 1GB may have been sufficient on older android versions and phones but with most tablets shipping with 2-3gb or more ram, this is probably the largest negative. Conveniently, Acer also includes a system doctor application which dumps/clears the ram, which you will be doing fairly regularly. Even viewing web sites in chrome caused the low memory icon to appear.
Cameras. Well let’s just say this tablet has 2 of them, one for selfies on the front side and a 5 megapixel on the back for snapshots & video. Pictures were just ok in bright sunlight. Low light pictures were grainy and blurry.

Overall this is an ok tablet. Consider the reasons you are purchasing a tablet first. The 1GB ram and constant low memory reminders become a bit annoying. With all the competition, I would have a difficult time recommending this to anyone unless there was a really low sale price.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Small but powerfull

Just purchased this vac and was pleasantly surprised by the small size of it which is about half the size of the Dyson canister that looks similar.
Also, something that is not noted, Eureka is owned by Electrolux, learning this "sealed the deal" for me and my decision to purchase this unit.
I live in a small house with hard wood floors, a few area rugs and one carpeted room. I have a Dyson upright but its too cumbersome to use the attachments with so I was looking for a canister vac for quick pick ups on the wood floors.
The suction on this vac is great, in fact, I had to open the slider control on the handle to keep the head from sticking to the floors.
My only complaint on this is the floor tool. It's OK but seems to me there are better designs for hard wood floors.
The canister wont hold tons of dirt, which is expected with the size of this, and it is easy enough to dump frequently. The bag-less design is great, very similar to my Dyson and the air flow/suction did not decrease as it would have if it were a bag model and the dirt trapped began filling the bag.
There are several filters that will need cleaned regularly and replaced as needed but this is done easily enough.
Got this on sale and definitely recommend it for anyone looking for an apartment/small house cleaning machine.

I have always been a PC person and was looking for a small laptop to travel with. I have a netbook but do not like the odd screen resolution and feel its a bit under powered.
I was considering an 11 inch model but figured that a 13 inch would be small enough to travel with and would have enough power to use for other things.
I always thought Apple products to be over priced, however, when you compare quality, specs, looks and design, the MacBook Pro to me was the clear winner. I wanted back-lit keys which quickly eliminated most of the pack. They are standard on the Mac. Also, it is a full size keyboard, not reduced or cramped.
I would have liked the display to have a bit higher resolution and I plan on upgrading the RAM to 8 or 16 (Yes, this model will do 16) but otherwise, this little gem is everything I could have asked for.
Most importantly, it even does windows which will keep the Mrs happy.
Yes, it was a few dollars more but in my opinion, worth it. And, when you see people using laptops on TV, they always seem to be an apple so thus the sexy...think Carrie Bradshaw!
What's great about it: The aluminum body, specs, track pad,
What's not so great: Would have liked higher display resolution.
