I've been listening to him since he was playing L.A. clubs along X and Los Lobos and I still enjoy the bejesus out of his take of "hillbilly music", never poppy or trend following as what is considered country now but insightful and driven as always
Been missing in action for a while, nice to see the change ups in their musicianship and sound while maintaining the things that got me into them from the beginning
I bought this for the extra material on the 2nd disc which is outstanding with alternate takes on familiar songs and cuts only heard in concerts from years past that been out of the loop recently on tour or the radio, a must for the Stones fan
Been listening to Shelby since her 1st LP and she's at her best when she does it her way, I don't consider this country especially as it is now but I recommend this to anyone who likes good music from someone that has experiences to draw from
I did not give an excellent mostly because some songs others have done with Tony were done if not better differently, so I would have to do a side by side to move my grade up but overall very good
Listening to this album again with the 2nd disc reminds me how far some music has strayed from what made it exciting in the 1st place, though I do like a lot of the sounds I hear now, the live shows hold no interest to me to see, computers, auto tuned voices that sound alike and pre recordings sung to are just blah.
