Very beautiful, crisp and clean display. 1920x1080 is a must and standard for any user. Anything less is not enough desktop real estate IMO.
Daily use - 24", very easy on the eyes as ASUS has numerous settings for low blue light and eco modes to emit less harmful blue light in dark rooms/situations. Text is very clean and clear. the 1 millisecond (ms) keeps motion blur when scrolling through text, websites and videos to non-existant.
2 built in speakers do enough to keep clutter off the desk (speaker wise) i still use headphones when gaming. But the built in speakers are good enough for Skype and youtube videos
Gaming - 144hz refresh rate, and 1ms response time...cant get any better than this. Ive always played on 60hz monitors....but when you can actually FEEL over 60fps (60hz is capped at 60 fps, even if your monitor says its doing 75-100fps its capped at 60). Im using a R7 370 graphics card (not over kill or too powerful) and runs 144hz beautifully. When playing games like CS-GO, WOW or other FPS games, you can see the smoothness of more frames per second with a faster refresh rate.
Price is kinda steep for the every day computer user. I game ocasionally, but needed a bigger monitor and now i game MUCH more.
couldnt be happier. MSRP is 299, but for $250 its a bargin.
Note: You need DVI Dual Link (cable supplied) or Display Port (DP) connections to take advantage of 144hz, also need to change settings under your video card settings in windows to accomodate for 144hz, default is set to 60hz. HDMI is CAPPED AT 60HZ. Yes this monitor has a HDMI connection, but only use this for CONSOLE games. Your doing a disservice to yourself if you use HDMI for a PC and this monitor. any other 60hz monitor...HDMI would be fine.

DOOM, it says it all. Fight Like He11! This is nothing like previous Doom Games, Story mode doesn't really mean much, its kinda cool, but you gain more by just getting into the action killing, hacking and slashing and with melee kills you get extra health and armor. Hard to explain, but you just have to play it.
If you like Doom this is a must have, especially because the Collectors Edition comes with a very limited edition statue. The Statue has red less and a small fan on the bottom to flicker the lights and give it extra zaaaazzzzz.
If you never played doom, but like FPS games, its a great game to buy.

Excellent First Person Shooter (FPS). Brand new for Blizzard Software. If you like games which require strategy, teamwork and balanced classes, this game is it. If you stack your team (play with friends) you'll always dominate. Lots of different game modes, Unlock cool items in a Loot Box like stances, icons and voices.
Of course you can always just join a game and Run and Gun, but that wont really get you anywhere.
Leveling system is top notch.
Easy to start and stop and pick up where you left off. Highly recommend this game. The Collectors edition is excellent because it comes with a pimp Soldier 76 statue, art work book and some other cool swag. worth every penny.

Big fan of RED (AMD) products. Been using their GPU's for years, from a 5750 to my current 6850 which was replaced by this R7 370. look at GPU BOSS.com You can compare the baseline of the cards to your current setup. Keep in mind, this specific XFX R7 370 is already slightly overclocked, which will provide better performance over a standard R7 370 by a different manufacturer.
Pros: Great looking card, DX12, Runs very quiet, energy efficient. XFX Lifetime warranty
Cons: @ $169.99 Id like the card to go for around $20 less. too many cards at this price range which could show to perform better. Even so, they still don't match XFX's warranty.

Wrong password
By mistake I put the wrong router password in for the 4500envy wireless printer....how do I change it to the right password
You can easily go into the onscreen menu, and reset the WiFi settings. Just re-do the WiFi Setup. (it will be like your starting from scratch, search for a new network..your current one in this case, and select and place your password)

Can I stream directly from my Kindle Fire tablet to the tv and can I activate the closed caption feature ?
You can stream via a web browser just like on Apple TV or Chromecast. If the Kindle Web browser allows the "cast" function youll be good. I know the Youtube app will work for casting. You might want to look into a Amazon Fire Stick if your looking to stream from the Kindle. However id highly recommend more resources and capabilities that youll get with Roku. Youll be happier with the Roku.

how far away from tv can the router be?
My router is 2 floors away (typical 3 level house) As long as you have a strong signal on a phone, tablet, computer where the TV is located..youll be fine. If you want, you can get an HDMI extension cable to move the ROKU Stick away from the back of the tv for better reception.

You can get FOX NOW, and your local FOX News Channel. Its not Live as far as the Local Fox News, it gives you clips from the news articles and weather segments. I have an OTA antenna with a Tivo Romeo, the Roku Stick is used for everything else. A must have!

Yes, as long as you have a subscription you can use ESPN. Authentication via a cable/satellite provider is needed.

I have the 46" model in a plasma. All Manufactures make TV's for different vendors. Mostlikely its the identical TV, just has a different ending to the model number to dictate where it was sold/purchased from. Bestbuy, Walmart, Target all have different model numbers for the same tv (sometimes)

If your still interested in an answer, its about how the display is constructed. Plasma Tubes vs. a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). LED Tv's are Light Emitting Diodes. LCD's and LED Tv's are super THIN. Plasmas have been slowly phasing out. I personally love glass front screen on Plasmas vs. a flat matte screen on a LED/LCD. The Plasma picture is/can be sharper than the comparable LED/LCD screen and has darker blacks than the LCD/LED. Refresh rates are 600hz vs a LCD or LED at 60hz or 120hz. For computers or games the Plasma is the way to go.
I have 2 plasmas, a 46 and a 43... And Ill buy another one when my 26" LCD dies, I am biased to the Plasmas, because they are excellent, less expensive than the same sized TV in a LCD/LED. You can't compare a $349 43" Samsung Plasma at 1080P and 600hz to a $300 46" LCD at 60hz. No comparison. Side by sides are great, but when you get a plasma home, you'll wish you bought one sooner.
