Connecting old Star Wars to the new ones to come

Rogue One is like a Star Wars 'war movie'..this is the gritty, dirty work be- hind the scenes of the first film. Great leads and action keep it moving, 3D and CGI effects are awesome...[with a slight caveat for how far CGI has come in impersonating dead or older actors from the first film...it's a little jarring to see]. Definitely looking forward to more along this line.

A great adaption of a beloved book

An Irish writer named Siobhan Dowd, was at work on 'A Monster Calls' while she was fighting cancer. She didn't live to finish it. Patrick Ness wrote the book & Jim Kay illustrated it. This movie is a loving adaption of the book. In the book and the movie a Yew Tree (or Tree of Life) is a big part of the story The 'World Tree' is one of the oldest symbols of the mystical union of human and nature. No new ground broken here story wise. Some characters don't look the same as previous films & TV versions. But nobody does this like real Japanese Anime from Japan. Be sure to get companion release Ghost in the Shell: Arise - Borders 1 & 2 for the whole series. And like I always say watch with English sub/Japanese language first , then watch again in English dub...while things are getting better with translations...hearing the original emotional intent of the Japanese actors is always best.

I think there are more then 60 songs in this animated film! That has got to be some kind of record. Funny story, great characters and really good animation that lets the 3 D pop. And if that's not enough you get three short films: Gunter Babysits, Love at First Sight, and Eddie's Life Coach, as well!

Denzel Washington shows what's behind Troy Maxson's anger, while Viola Davis as Rose Lee Maxson shows what it takes to be with him through it all. Having seen the play before, it was nice to see it out in the open in the 'real world'...this in no way, to me, lessened the impact that it makes when seen on a live theater's cloistered stage set...the power of 'Fences' the 'play' is very present in this film.

There's the family you 'get' & the one you 'make'

This is what you get when a great screenwriter/director, Barry Jenkins, along with an incredible story by Tarell Alvin McCraney and a mere $1.5 million budget [compared to the multi-millions spent on much lesser movies]...you get a little masterpiece. Told uniquely in three parts from boy, to teen, to man, you see a life struggled through and lived. To have THIS CAST get this material is proof that the universe is not always against good films.

Great film despite a bad casting decision

As a long time reader of Doctor Strange I had a big problem with the casting of Tilda Swinton (an actress I love), as 'The Ancient One' and changing the character from a Tibetan Mystic man to a Celtic Mystic woman. That caveat aside this film is up to the usual great standards set by the previous Marvel films of the last decade. If you have a 3D set-up make sure to see it that way, this is a visual feast for the eyes.

Does the kitchen timer work when the microwave is working
It's very useful to use the timer on the microwave to keep track of something else you are timing. So many don't do this and for me, it's a critical feature.
Yes it does and I use it to time boiled eggs and other stove top tasks, however be near your kitchen to hear it when it goes off, it is not loud enough to be heard all over a house or large apartment.

Noise
I just purchased this microwave. It is quite noisy and rattles when it starts up. Is this normal??
The magnetron that generates the microwaves in ANY microwave oven is always going to generate sound. The rattle is something else, perhaps the motor for rotation platter is faulty. My unit works great and has no rattle at start up or even later. You might want to get it exchanged.
