A vital piece of your GoPro arsenal for any footage in water. By having a Floaty attached to your backdoor, you insure that you don't lose your $300 GoPro when cliff jumping, kayaking, swimming, or going to the beach. The one downside to the product is the price, off-brand versions of the Floaty are spitting images of this product and may go for half off compared to the GoPro Floaty. Most of the other third party mounts sold for GoPro cameras are a compromise compared to the GoPro branded product, but in the case of this Floaty, the third party product is basically the same. I personally haven't used the tethers that come with the Floaty, but I've attached the string that comes with the Floaty, wrapped it around a silicone bracelet and record while holding the GoPro in my hand, so even if I let go of the GoPro, the camera with the Floaty will be tethered to my wrist.

After you buy your GoPro, this is one of the first mounts/kits you need to buy because of its incredible usefulness. The GoPro itself will include one flat adhesive mount and one curved mount, but that won't be enough. If you have a family, you NEED to put one of these curved mounts on everyone's helmets. First person perspective from a curved mount adhered to the front of your ski helmet is CRUCIAL if you are skiing glades (some of the most interesting footage a intermediate/advanced outdoorsman will get on a regular basis is skiing the glades). The only disappoint with this setup is that once you adhere the mount, removing it is very difficult. Even if you apply heat, as is recommended for removal; so choose your mounting locations wisely.

One of the most versatile mounts

I love this mount for helmet attachments when I inline skate or bike ride, but the real magic of this particular mount is its versatility. When I want to mount a camera in a stationary position (i.e. above looking out at the action), this is the way to go. For instance, when I record my serves in tennis, I mount the camera on the chain link fence surrounding the court and it holds incredibly well while at the same time being easy to install. Initially, when I got the urge to record my serves, I thought of using the Roll Bar mount around the narrow twists in the chain link fence and that became a pain. With the vented helmet mount, I simply slipped the nylon straps around the wide part of the chain links and proceeding to tighten them down. The camera doesn't slip at all over time, even when I hit record around 40 times during a practice session to create new clips.

Handy for Hobbies Where a Helmet is Not Required

All of the mounts in GoPro's arsenal have a purpose and come in handy when a given hobby calls for it; in this case, it serves the need for first-person perspective in hobbies that don't require helmets (i.e. tennis, jogging). I wish that the product could integrate with the Chesty mount (i.e. attach the back of this mount to the shoulder straps of the Chesty) because when I attach a host of extensions to the front of this head strap mount in order to get the first-person/camera looking directly at my face view, the strap starts to fall forward and sink as you jump or run around. Haven't used the clip on a hat yet.

Needs a Power On/Off Light in Front

This product served as a replacement for my DVD player. It is a great piece of equipment for a non-Smart HDTV because it adds the ability to watch Netflix, Youtube, Amazon, and other streaming services. I enjoy the fact that I now have only one piece of equipment that allows me to play DVDs, Bluray discs, CDs, and watch Netflix/Amazon/other streaming services. Interestingly, I tried to program the Aux button on my Silver/Red Comcast Xfinity remote using the 20199 programming code so that I could avoid using the Samsung Bluray remote that came with the product. The directional buttons (up, down, left, right) on the remote, as well as the play, rewind, fast forward, stop, etc work on the Comcast remote, but the Select button doesn't, rendering the use of the streaming services impossible; though, the play/rewind/etc buttons do work with this Bluray player so I have been able to play my Bluray discs using the Comcast Xfinity remote. I have found initiating Netflix to be slower using this Bluray player than it is on a Vizio Smart HDTV that I have. Finally, I don't like the fact that the Bluray player doesn't have an on/off light indicating whether it is active.

Consider the 4 Foot Length

The finish of this HDMI cable is of high quality, and I have had no picture quality issues; however, I wish I had purchased the 4 foot length rather than the 8 foot length. For most home media setups, where the Bluray player is located above or below the television, 8 feet is too long. A 6 foot HDMI cable length may be the magic number for 95% of people (particularly if there are cabinet holes that you have to snake the cable through in order to give your setup a clean look), but that is exactly the length that Rocketfish doesn't produce for this product, leaving you with a cable that is either too long (8 feet) or too short (4 feet) (though I would purchase the 4 foot length next time, and I'm rather sure I wouldn't have any problems). Of course, this won't matter to you if you measured your home media system before going out to the store.
