Disappointing product. So slow and cumbersome.

I was very excited to open up the package on this Acer Iconia One 10" Tablet. It arrived nicely packaged, and the product itself has a nice feel to it. It does have a 10" screen so it's not going to feel like a phone or small tablet in your hands, but the design on it is modern and stylish.

So I turned on the system. It took a long time to boot up. The operating system felt sluggish and unresponsive for what seemed like an eternity, but it was a good three minutes or so to boot up and give me an opportunity to log on to my wifi network.

After connecting to my wifi network, I wanted to check out the screen capabilities. Downloaded the YouTube app, and was very disappointed to see how slowly the app loaded, compared to my phone and other tablet. I have AT&T GigaPower at my house. So there is nothing wrong with my internet service or capabilities.

Finally the video I loaded appeared and I was able to play it. I have to say, the screen resolution was very nice. The video was very crisp and clear. Playback was smooth when it finally buffered.

Next, I love to browse for new cars. I downloaded the Cars.com app and started browsing for cars. The tablet was very slow to load new information to the page when I selected a vehicle. It became frustrating, and then on one selection, the tablet just turned itself off.

I rebooted it and tried again. Opened up my app again, and still just as slow to retrieve information as before.

Battery life is concerning as well. I used it for about 40 mins after a full charge, and then put it up on a granite countertop, on it's stand. Left it overnight, went to turn it on, and it was dead.

So, plugged it in to charge, and it seems to take a long time to charge back to 100%. The charge countdown to full is inaccurate as well. It showed 3 mins left to 100% charge, but took another 15 mins to achieve 100% charge. I live in a brand new house, so I know there isn't an issue with the outlets in my home either.

Same thing happened the following night. Left it overnight and the battery drained. So this doesn't make it very user friendly to put down and pick up as an everyday tool. My home is kept at 71 degrees, so it's not like it's the arctic in here, which would drain the battery quicker.

I really wanted to like this tablet but it just didn't cut it for me, and I came away actually really disappointed in it.

In summary, it has a very nice design, and a great screen resolution, but if I have to charge it before every use, and the user experience is sluggish, I just can't recommend it.
