Simply another good, solid effort by one of my favorite bands, Dawes. The folk-rock sound is on display with exceptional guitar play. The lyrics, as always, are superb. I would encourage multiple listens as I enjoyed every track better the third time around than I did on the first. The emotions stirred by the words and music definitely grow on you. That there are only 9 tracks is the only reason I did not give this 5 stars. To be fair, Now that it is too late, Maria is twice as long as a typical song, but I am old school enough to prefer a 10 song minimum. Even with that, this is a very good collection of songs that fit in nicely with the Dawes library.
Another movie based on a fictitious dystopian future. The plot was fairly weak, but that is somewhat to be expected in this genre. The acting was above average, with Shailene Woodley and Theo James giving the strongest performances. The special effects and action sequences were well done. Not as good as other movies in the genre (i.e. Hunger Games) but an enjoyable, just not spectacular, viewing experience.
