Debated this purchase for several weeks and finally decided on the 48" Sony Bravia. (Was also considering a Vizio and Samsung...but all the positive reviews lead me to select the Sony).
This tv was easy to setup and connected to the internet in no time at all. 1080P programs and BluRays look amazing! I also like the fact that this tv weights only about 27 lbs...my previous plasma was over 75 lbs. The viewing angle seems fine. I have seem some negative comments about that but I haven't noticed any color issues when viewing from the side...that that may depend on your living room size however.
My only gripe would be the sound is a bit hit or miss depending on what you are watching...though it is still better than my previous tv. I may invest in a sound bar in the future.
