What is this shield made of? And is it for a 5 year old?
The shield is made of thick, hard, resin plastic. It's fairly hefty, so I wouldn't consider it for a 5 year old. Also, it is painted on the surface, so chances are that wouldn't hold up to the abuse a 5 year old would put it through. I hung mine on the wall for decoration, but it would be awesome for an adult at a costume event.
