The TV looks great, the picture is great, but it's getting "too smart". Inputs constantly looking for changes and resolution makes the screen blink occasionally. This is really frustrating for what it costs.

That is correct. Installation is very simple and if you run into any problems Rachio support is fast and efficient.

Can I turn zones on and off manually from smart phone?
Absolutely! That's one of the greatest features!
