does the JBL flip speaker ..designed to stand up or lay horizontally???. .

works either way. The ends are sort of bass ports though. We haven't noticed any real degredation of sound when standing it on end.

Does not come w/ a charger. USB cable only.

Will it connect to sony soundbar as surround speakers, 2016 model?

I would doubt it. Bluetooth on soundbars is for incoming signal. Not an output.

Yes. They don't sync.

can the dot connect to bose radio to use its speakers?

I believe there is a 1/8" audio out port on the back IIRC. Bluetooth speakers work (we picked up a JBL Flip 3).
